British Deaths In Afghanistan

British. you can object to fighting as a soldier and then go through the conscientious objection process.

See my above posts.

fight and die for criminals or rot in a prison for your principles.. your decision.

they signed up to serve and fight when needed.....its what they train for.

who in their right mind would watch the guys who he serves with..who he is meant to protect and who are meant to protect him........go off and fight while he sits down at home checking out the internet to decide which country sounds more convincing in their arguement.

It is said that No True Scotsman would ever put anything - salt, sugar, whatever - on his porridge. But what if a Scotsman does? Ah, you say, he is not a true Scotsman. Never mind that he was born and lives in Scotland, comes from an ancient clan of Scots, and would consider himself Scottish. Oh no, the fact that he puts sugar on his porridge means he can't possibly be a true Scotsman.

And now you say that no true Muslim would commit terrorism. Yet there are plenty of Muslims who do commit terrorism. Not true Muslims? Do me a favour. At best they are
misguided. At worst, it's a bloodthirsty religion bent on conquering the world by force. Actually, that's a bit sensationalist. The truth is somewhere in between.

as i i said before in my edit im not going to argue much more past here because, we all only know our own realities. After spending too many hours researching and writing on this subject i hold these beliefs, that just like the 'war on drugs' is so the establishment can exert greater control upon our lives and increase power/hegemony etc.. the same applies to the 'war on terror'.

even playing devils advocate and looking it from the average person who just reads the sun:

"someone might try to kill me so lets treat everyone like criminals and go over and kill another untold number of innocent millions for my safety."

maybe its just me but that sounds ridiculous.

EDIT: Forgot to say that I'm Scottish and i have never heard that saying in my entire life... i'm not saying your lying, maybe its a saying outside of Scotland towards us... but that is the first time i have ever heard it. Who has sugar with oats anyway, pansies. :d

Well done. It must have taken a lot of effort to so utterly ignore my point.

Someone with principles?

When they sign up they are not servants to the whim of the government.

yup you're right....atleast half of them should have stayed at home and let the rest go fight so they didnt even have enough men to cover each other.
the half that stayed at home should have waited some years for more facts to come out before deciding whether to fight or not.

ditto.

fbi.gov vs. rewardsforjustice.net.... hmm....

ok, you can believe the agency that was invented specifically by the DoS for terrorism or you can believe the agency that actually investigated 9/11...

"Rewards for Justice, Washington, D.C. 20522-0303, USA.
1-800-US REWARDS (1-800-877-3927) | [email protected] "

yes that's their details, i know of them.... but you ignore my point; they did not investigate 9/11.

So, your point is that the agency that investigated 9/11 wont list Osama as the progenitor of 9/11 but since a US State Department creation lists him as a suspect for 9/11, as do faux news, cnn, bbc etc... then it becomes truth?

i thought we were supposed to believe what the people investigating the crime said?

I don't care what agency gets the little scum bag and puts him in the chair
I WILL PLUG IT IN...

So in other words, you put colleagueship over principles and killing innocent people, okay if that's the way you feel - not that your analogy is anything but fiction, obviously they wouldn't send half squadrons into the field..

lol, no they arent, they are protecting them.

have you been their or spoke to anyone who has?

FYI - our established order doesnt destroy poppies, we confiscate the fields off the local farmers who are trying to make a living and then ship it into the UK.

Really?

I remember reading about the farmers going nuts cause the USA spraying the fields and them moaning nothing else brings in the money, or keeps the taliban away.

Soldiers typically aren't in a position to judge who is "innocent".

lol and yours is what ?
you think the soldiers knew facts ? ....you think they said to the soldiers...'hey gear up boys we're going on a killing rampage in afghanistan...kids women donkeys sheep anyone and anything that looks innocent gets a bullet'

It's a contract of employment like any other. They are employed by the army to fight wars. If they honestly think the war is unjust, then sure - they can quit, but otherwise it is their duty to fight.

Its actually more simple than that, they have taken an oath to do what they are ordered to do.

"I (state your name), swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, her heirs and successors and that I will as in duty bound honestly and faithfully defend Her Majesty, her heirs and successors in person, crown and dignity against all enemies and will observe and obey all orders of Her Majesty, her heirs and successors and of the generals and officers set over me"

Getting out of that one is a bit more tricky than resigning from a civilian job. Most civilian employers don't have their own laws, police, jails and authority to exact justice.
