My Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme 4870x2...

chaosophy, I wouldn't hold your breath! I did the same a week ago and not only am I still awaiting a reply, they haven't even looked at the thread I created!!!
I'm at a loss as to why OCUK have ignored every attempt I have made to find out if they will be stocking this item. They either don't want my business, can't be bothered to reply to customers or have no idea if they will be stocking/ selling this item! None of which is what I would expect from OCUK.
I have given up on OCUK ever having this item now and have started looking elsewhere which is a real shame, I have stated time and time again that I prefer to deal with OCUK instead of the lesser hadware retail sites. SHAME ON YOU OCUK :(
 
well you already know my opinion but anyways nice review, now just to pray OcUK, or hell any UK e-tailer, starts stocking these damned things

When this was first announced I would have jumped on one immediately. Now I will leave it until the next generation of cards arrive.

Total wasted opportunity. I am also surprised at how a company like OCUK who pride themselves on carrying this type of product has totally failed its community.
 
What size screw drivers should I use on the screws for this card? Just ordered one of these coolers from Germany and want to get all the correct tools for the job as I don't fancy bricking my card!
 
You can test your screwdriver on the screws on the X bracket on your card. If it fits that, then it'll fit the screws that come with the cooler. :)

That's basically all you need. :)
 
Mine comes today from another UK site, cant wait to get home and put it in. I took the old cooler off last night to save time when i get in. Been waitin for it for so long.

Just got a txt saying its at home waiting.... gonna be a long day!
 
If you do not get the longer screws for the x-bracket in the box and really want to get it installed, then remove the springs and four black plastic tabs (leaving the centre one attached). That was the only was I was able to attach mine last night.

the place i got mine from told me they were waiting for some screws so fingers crossed it should all be in the box.

have you noticed an increase in case temps due to the heat not going out the back now?
 
well got mine in tonight and I LOVE it!! So quiet so cool and looks nice too!

my only dislike is that the power cable extenders are 2*6 pin and not 1*6 and 1*8!!

I have also noticed a slight jump in NB and MB temps due to the heat not going out the back but nothing to worry about and worth it for the silence!

another point worth noting if anyone gets one, is that i read that you need to keep the fan speed at 70%min to keep enough air flowing to keep the rest of the card cool and not just the gpu's!!

I have mine at 75% and cant hear it over my other fans! Well worth the £50 i paid..
 
I am jealous for 2 reasons

a) you own a 4870x2
b) you own a quiet & cool 4870x2

This was gonna be my treat out of next pay packet but it seems the 4870x2 is now a collectors item
 
Haha thanks. Just wait for the 5*** series to come
out or get an x2 on the bay! You should get a good one at an ok price when the 5*** come out!!
