Tarrantino's favourite 20 films since 1992

I couldn't agree more about the Matrix, Reloaded and Revolutions massively spoiled what could have been one of the greatest films ever. :(

EDIT: Also, it's really nice to see such an accomplished director and what not, showing his genuine respect and praise for other people's work. I sort of feel like a lot of people maybe too proud to do such a thing, but it gives me a really warm feeling to hear Tarrantino praising other people's work so highly. :)

The fact he talks about movies and there is completely irrelevant footage of his almost-straight-to-video miniature going on in the background only proves there is no feature that Sky wouldn't be able to completely screw up for their subscriber using minimum budget...

Good list there, not sure about speed but pretty much agree with the rest (that i've seen). Wouldn't put Battle Royale at the number 1 spot but it'd certainly be up there.
 
Even though he directed and wrote part of it, Pulp Fiction should have been in there, NO question. :p
 
Lost in Translation!?

Thats really shocked me coming from Tarrantino. I honestly couldn't imagine him watching it.

I'm surprised by Dogville. It was dire, dire no budget spectacle to TV affair where everything happens in one room and props were marked as white lines and names on the floor. It's one of those things that in most countries cinemas paid headmasters solid bribes to send entire schools to using ministry of culture budgets just to recoup costs.

are all great movies from that list that I've seen (discounting the obvious stuff like The Matrix). I didn't expect Speed to be in there but its still a good film, despite the age.

this is a strange one, the film kept me drawn in, and I couldn't bring myself to change the channel, but nothing really happened in the film, which I think is why many people simply say "it's crap"

I liked the film, but I'd never buy it on dvd, or say to a bunch of friends "omg, lets all watch Lost in Translation"



"omg, lets watch Predator", another story :cool:

Seen those ones. Surprised to see Unbreakable on there - I thought it was pretty poor.

Lost In Translation is amazing. I find it to be an inexplicably beautiful film. I think it manages to convey it's point about life incredibly well. The acting is amazing too. I agree that nothing really happens, but that's kinda crucial to the point of the film, and it's all so charming and well written and acted that it doesn't really matter that the pace is slow.
