TV Died after 2 months, where do I stand

It's simple, they either replace the TV with one of the same, if they don't have one, then a greater/better model, if all else fails the offer of store credit can be on the table but you have a right to say no and should receive a full refund.

i have been down this route before, dont flame me i only telling what i did and what happened

as it states in the terms and condtions,a full refund is offered within the 28 days of purchase,if how ever the product is faulty after the 28 days we will endeaver to repair or replace the item for like for like.there not breaking any laws either as they have offered you a credit note, they also do not have to give you a full refund because you dont like them, also if you brought you tv two months ago then i cant see why they have not got them anymore,if not there they will have in another store,or the manufactor is able to supply the parts or replace.like i said i have been down this route and have fighted my corner till me head burst, but even cab will tell you they have offered you a credit note, which means by law they are not breaking it,if however you feel that you no longer want to buy from there then this is a matter of manager/complaints then head office, also tv's do go wrong and thats just bad luck, the store its self is not making them in the warehouse they just sell them to you via the company its made from.

regarding mine it was more complicated than your as i had exteneded warrenty ect and they didnt stock my tv and i asked for a refund for £1000 instead i got offered £500. in the end as products lose value and more and offered me a like for like, which actually wipes my samsung to bits and im very happy.

some may disagree with me but i have hands on with this, also cab are not allways right either.its whats in the small print thats got us.

They can OFFER whatever they like but you dont have to ACCEPT anything but a full refund

When they say we will offer to repair it, Thats fine just say no thanks i'll have my cash.

Its an Offer to repair not a take it or leave it

Glad you got a new one though

I have a new TV now:)

I took the nackered one back.

Today comet rang me saying they need the power cord (a 20p kettle lead) and the remote back, as I have not put them in apparently. I thought I had done but no-one asked me in the shop when I took it back.

Should I just tell them to go away? I have been in hospital today and have a tube stuck to my face, and so have no intention of the 15mile drive to Stafford.

Depends on how you feel about them, after my experience with them I'd tell them to shove it up there watsit, you could request a prepaid enevelope off them to send it back in but i wouldn,t be driving 15 miles for them :)

There is no way I will ever buy something from Comet ever again. Their 'engineer' was poking the power circuit board with his biro to see if anything sparked (the tv was on with the back off).

LMAO wonder what he would have done if it had of 'sparked', I reckon a new pair of undies would have been in order :)
But seriously thats the level of competence they have, absolute rubbish :)

Biro maybe a little odd but what he was doing is perfectly legit (we used chop sticks) he was checking for dry joints and he would need the tv to be on.

When he says sparks he actually meant fizzes you can see little fizzes around joints. and when you know what your doing(not saying he did) he will have kept his fingers clear of voltage(hence the biro)
