DIRT 2 Demo is out on the 360 now

I played the PS3 version last night and the improvments over the original are great. The handling of the vehicles feels much better than before, you really get the feel of the wheels being slightly sunk in the gravel and the other cars tracks having an effect on handling. The graphics looks great, even at just 720p and the UI is great and very well presented. It's also got the GRID flash back system, which is good.

The two american rally drivers in the game do make some stupid, half ars*d comments during races that might get on your nerves after a while. But on the whole I am really looking forward to this.

Going to try it with the G25 today.
 
Dirt 2 i think is one of the first dx11 games to be made. Iirc i think i saw them saying they will fully support dx11 in a video somewhere.
 
I wouldn't count on the pc demo being out any time soon. Sure I read that they were holding back the pc release for a few months to utilise DX11 though could be argued that they are just maximising sales on the more expensive, harder to crack version of the game :rolleyes:

'any time soon' translates to 'never', seen as release dates for the PC version have gone a bit fuzzy and you can no longer pre order it at a lot of places (the Jersey stroe for example). I wouldnt be surprised to see a 2010 PC release date...

...or perhaps they will release it with the Grid patch weve been waiting for since...forever
 
They want to make big profit on the console game sales first (and then will release a ported version for the pc that stutters at a res >720p even on a high end system)

Rubbish

The ONLY reason they delay PC versions of games is so they can cream the £40 console sales for a few months before releasing the £20 PC version. If they released them at the same time god how those console kiddies would moan!
 
Just tried the PS3 demo with my G25 and it's mint, works perfectly out of the box, no messing at all.

This bodes well for the PC version, which is the version I will get.
 
just tried the ps3 demo also....wow what a load of ****.
now i do much prefer my racing sims but im also quite keen on ridge racer and need for speed series and was always a fan of toca games...but this had nothing to hold my interest other than the codemasters name.
