xbox360 Natal video showing it in action.

I was quite impressed with the Burnout test but when it comes to pressurised races online, it'd all go to pot.

It still seems a bit slow and response a bit laggy, its still early days yet its got about a year of dev time left before release.

I hope things like this don't become the norm. After a hard day's work, I don't want to be jumping around like a spastic just to play a game. What I want to do is sit down in my big comfy armchair with a beer or two and just play it with a standard controller.

Have to agree. Whilst Natal is impressive, it's not what you want to do after a 9-5. Burnout seemed slow to respond to the movement of the guy, not by much and I guess as someone has mentioned it is early days.

My worry about natal is that i can imagine massive amounts of processing are required to identify a person and detect their movements to any responsive degree. Even the Wii which simply uses a basic infra red camera takes too long to respond to a persons movement when aiming so unless they've developed some groundbreaking software i really can't see it being responsive enough to remotely cater for fast paced gaming.

Oh and, god i hate Kudo

Totally agree with that. Video games are what I do to relax. That doesn't look relaxing in the least.

Natal isnt just a couple cameras its also has some kind of processor built in to work out some of the stuff, thats why many think it will be pretty expensive.

Anyone noticed the burnout demo has always had him going in one direction?

To turn round corners in Burnout you need to handbrake/brake and turn. Can't be done with natal really. But it's more showing the tech than the games at the moment.

Still waiting for a video to show why anyone would want to use this.

So far every video I've seen has been to show how it works, and has amounted to little more than jumping around like an idiot.

Says who?

Definitely not the case with the Wii, is it?
Err the Wii has one controller and was built around the controller. Sure some games will require the camera... but then don't buy the games? It's not like you are going to get the next Call of Duty game saying you need it.

So you didn't watch the Milo demo then?

I still don't get why people get negative about stuff like this. If you don't want it don't get it as not having it will effect the way you like to play games. It's more interactivty than a replacement controller.

It seems like a good idea..

But what happens when i want to SIT down and play a game, after being stood up for 8 hours working i'd like to sit down. Atleast with the Wii on most games you dont have to move your body and you can sit down aslong as you have some room around you.

If rumours are to believed, the next MS console could see Natal as the main, if not the only method of control.

But this isn't for the next MS console. It's for the 360. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

The point seems to be flying over your head. If things like this prove really popular for Sony, MS and Nintendo then it will become the norm and many developers will stop making games the way we currently like them. The "it doesn't affect you" argument is incredibly flawed.
