Basically thinking of buying the whole boxset with every episode. I never really seen more that about 5 episodes but it did look alright. So is it any good or is there something else that could be recommended.

You should really try to watch a few more episodes before buying all 10 seasons if you don't know if you like it. It's fairly consistent in the first 6 seasons then the characters change a bit and it becomes less episodic and more about story arc. If the episodes you've seen and liked were in the first 6 seasons, I'd say you'll probably like the whole thing.

First 7 seasons are awesome, the best tv ive ever watched.

Last 3 seasons are ok, the two "films" are good as well!

If you enjoyed the first few episodes then it will be a great purchase.

Its better than BSG imo.

If you have Sky, nay. Just wait until they start again with s1e1 on Sky 2 and then series link. They seem to have it on constant repeat so it's only a matter of time.

No, just not worth buying in any shape or form. When it's good it's good, but mostly it's a distinctly average sci-fi show. They ran out of ideas very quickly with regards to bad guys, then when they finally decided to change them, they brought in the terrible Ori. I'd say it was worth watching, just for the good bits. But I can't see why you'd want to own it.

Was in a similar dilemma recently with Babylon 5 wondering if I should buy the mahoosive box or just take it season by season.

I would recommend buying season 1 first and watching that, if you enjoy it then definitely get the rest.

i always liked the ori but the story involving them was a little lame.

sg atlantis was alright to but got old fast, also dont forget stargate universe should air sometime soon in america and usually sky arent to far behind them

is there a point to it? do they ever actually secure and start using new technology. I know they get the ship in the latter series. But how about weapons and stuff?
Is there actually a conclusion. Do they join as the fifth race. Is there some reasonable conclusive ending.

I enjoyed Atlantis much more, I found the characters more interesting. I have no hopes from Universe at all, it's rare you get a second spin off from a show that is still good.

not especially, there's a few little bits but they are few and far between. There is no conclusion really (although the Ori storyline is concluded in one of the films) Universe will probably conclude with Humans being the fifth race I think.

first 5 or so season's are the best with the originals, gotta be honest i dont know how many seasons there are ect but i used to watch it every day in the past, i just remember it getting to modern and characters changing since that day ive never watched it since, lost its originality i thought

Gotta echo what others have said, first 5 or so seasons are amazing and after that it does lose some of its sparkle. Still above average sci-fi though in my opinion. Just dont expect things to end on a high, i felt extremely unsatisfied when i watched the last episode, and the films didnt do much to help that feeling.
