did it make the usual super loud explosion noise that vices do when breaking. the last time i seen one break there was 4 of us pressing down on an extension bar in the workshop. despite all pushing downwards we still jumped a mile when it went. cant even remember what was in the vice now but it must have been epic

Use a press next time instead of swinging on the vice handle.

The solution was heat. Popped round a mates house and got the torch on the joint for a minute or so and it pressed out in the vice really easily.
