Hi Guys, just got the above speakers which are 5.1 surround etc.

Ive got an Asus P5K Mobo with inbuilt Realtek Audio HD sound etc.

Now, when i use the Realtek sound setup demo, i can get the 5.1 surround working with both the rear right and left speakers making sounds and very effectively.

However in game, the rear left and right speakers dont seem to get used.

Now, is this just me being stupid and not setting something up right or do most games not tend to use surround sound?

Im very new to this so any help would be very much appreciated.

I have the same setup as you (different motherboard, same chipset) and the main thing that annoys me is that if you plug in headphones into the controlling speaker you only get 2 of the 5 channels...

The Z5500 or whatever they're called are supposed to be a lot better in the control respect.

I didnt realise that mate - mind you, i had a posh set of creative headphones and i kinda sat on them - whilst drunk. They sure as hell dont work anymore!

Ill try the headphone situation when i get some new ones. However, for the time being, im proper happy with these speakers. Having the two rears just behined your head whilst playing COD4 etc is pretty astonishing.

On the down side, they freak my dog out and he is currently hidden under my pillow. Bless.

The other thing that annoys me about them is the Bass. You can't turn it completely off. It's decent when watching BluRay films, but when you've got the neighbours complaining cause you're listening to music quietly at 4am, not so good... :P
