Isnt Wolfenstein Released today???

Damn, had really high hopes for the mp game and from what Ive read it doesnt sound great. Also looks like Activision werent too pleased either given theyve fired some of the staff resoponsible for mp on launch day.

Dont know whether to give it a chance or not, really didnt like the sp game in rtcw but the mp kept me hooked for ages.

I played the mp beta and it was not like rtcw/et. Think of a poor rtcw/cod blend and you get some idea how it plays. It wasn't very good. Why the developers chose to alienate a sizable and loyal fan base by giving us this odd hybrid of a game I do not know.

So, to sum it up, this game is awful?

No it's definitely not awful. I'm pretty near the start (about an hour in) of the SP and i'm really enjoying it. Sound and general atmosphere is very good. I also think the graphics and physics are fine. Gameplay is all that matters to me and Wolfeinstein definitely meets my expectations as I was a big RTCW fan.

Game also feels optimized and i'm running it with everything on high with spec in sig.

that depends on if you were going to buy the game for the single player or the multiplayer.

single player game is fine..its a bit of fun and then you move on just like any other game.

multiplayer is a bit different....if you were a hardcore wolf player who had been playing the game for x amount of years and you thought that wolf was the best team based online shooter then it feels like a slap in the face.

people keep commenting as though the sp game and mp are the same...they are not even if they come together....they were even made by different companies.

besides the sp is a decent shooter.
mp is just ****

I loaded it up today...GFX aint that bad and for once I prefer the single player mode...Multiplay is tosh, then again I haven't really given that side of it a fair go yet....
But I don't think this game will drag me away from BF2 for to long.....

I can't speak for the multiplayer as it doesn't interest me at all but I think the single player is really good. GFX are fine too.
Interestingly I finished playing through the RTCW single player campaign just before starting this one and I can't see what people are unhappy about. Satisfying weapons/gunplay, varied and great-looking levels (from the small portion I've seen so far), voice-acting is decent, interesting hub-based map structure, plenty of scope for replay, loads of weapon upgrades/secrets, etc

In summary, I've completed about 5 of the single player maps and so far I'm thoroughly impressed.

As I said - as a game in its own right its not too bad - even quite good depending on your tastes - but they've taken one small aspect of the original games and built a game around that - it kinda misses most of the wolfenstein feel.

A lot of games seem to have a lack of the health bar in them, instead using the screen to indicate damage being taken, this I don't like as much - its hard to tell how far you are from game over on some occasions.

What extras/bonus stuff did you guys get with the game? I bought mine from a high street retailer and the box claims 'limited edition:flamethrower weapon unlocked at start'. Another etailer says their version of the game comes with in game money on spend on weapon upgrades straight away.

My game is the 2nd mode you have described, where you have to collect gold & money through the game and purchase the unlocks as and when you can afford them......

seta g_unlockedFlameDLC "1"

in the single player wolf config should unlock that for anybody wanting it

Personally im enjoying the single player or be it, its quite easy on normal settings.

Graphics arn't too bad but are not up to the standard of Crysis and other games.

Worth a play though.
