Isnt Wolfenstein Released today???

Not just Win7 people who are having the problem. The problem is (apparently) when you have multiple monitors the mouse is able to leave the game window, most games handle the mouse in a less retarded way, typically by constantly recentering it after getting a reading so you'd need a 5000dpi mouse or something before it became a problem.

Oh and XP mode won't help. It doesn't do hardware acceleration, and I don't think the Doom3 engine even supports software rendering.

Well You should be able to dissable multi monitors to test quite easily !

It does this for me as well, I'm on a dual monitor XP setup. Sometimes when you go to the map/intel screen, it places the mouse cursor on the other monitor. Very strange bug.

As for the game itself, its not too bad. The respawn of the enemies can be a bit annoying when you're trying to get from one place to another (esp downtown) - I've taken to just sprinting past them now rather than waste time/ammo engaging them. It would have been good if you could sneak around a bit more or there were more routes available to avoid them.
The missions themselves are pretty good, I love the range of weapons but find myself sticking to the MP40/43/Kar 98 combo as ammo is plentiful for them and you don't really need anything else.
Only tried MP once and got such bad FPS lag that I haven't been back. Will try turning down the graphics a bit next time I try it.

Overall I found the game to be just a bit of good old mindless fun, but the running through the same old streets again and again grated after a while.

Took me just over 5hrs to complete single player....a tad short but very enjoyable

How much one enjoys a game is actually very much overlooked today as people look to much to the graphical element rather than it's entertainment value. Occasional, I'll load RTCW. It has dated without a doubt but it's still very enjoyable, and that's what makes a game legendary.

Been playing over the weekend and actual quite enjoyed it. I only hate when I have to run as it makes me sick for some reason. Game getting quite challenging at later levels, I dont understand people complaining that it's mega easy on hard.

Only problem is that so far any boss fights that I have done once you know how to kill them are very very easy I have to say. Game runs very smooth as well on my old rig.

Need to complete this game asap as RE5 and other AAA games coming at the end of the week.

had a go on this round a friends house, looks pretty nice maxxed out and also played pretty well, the abilities thing in the game is quite cool. i played upto the big plasma tank thing.....sounds effects are great!

Ok, spoiler alert.

I'm stuck on the end boss (well I assume it's the end boss, it's Hans Grosse), on the 3rd stage of the fight with all my google searches saying that this bit is really easy.

He hides up at the edge of the game's draw distance and fires rockets and I can get a few shots in with the Panzershreck then he moves onto this bridge with glowing red rocks on the underside and starts chucking a constant rain of bombs off the side.

I can't get a shot in because the bridge is in the way and going anywhere near the bombs causes insta-death. There seems to be some bits of scenery on the central floating rock thing, but I suspect they're just there for decoration as the game uses invisible walls to keep you from going there.

So how do I get past this bit?

Keep moving and let him come to You, Then "slow things down" and empty a clip into him, run and repeat, tip... forget the big weapons (too slow,You will be wearing a rocket by the time You have aimed it )

No, it's after that stage, you've already lost mire power at this point, only empower left.

He doesn't come to you, just sits there chucking explosives about.

You lost Me, just run and gun and recharge your powers works for all 3 parts, sounds like you need to go back and reload an earlier save as something is not triggering !

Well, just completed it and I liked it a fair amount more than I thought I would.

The physics in the game were good as was the sound; the sound loops on the other hand, which you get in many if not all games, did irritate me slightly. You would think that these could be erased from games but its easy for me to say this when I have little idea about what goes in to a game's development cycle.

The graphics weren't that bad at all, some nice ones and some clearly dated ones too.

I liked being able to take on different missions, at my own choosing, which mixed the feel a bit and this did make it seem less linear than I anticipated.

I quite enjoyed the story line too, gradually became more interested in the game as it progressed, this I had previously noted from some other folks' comments also.

All in all a good game.

Actually what I needed to do was chuck a few rockets into the red crystals underneath the bridge that he was standing on, then he moves on to the next step and from there the fight was pretty straightforward.

Just completed this tonight.

Overall, a reasonable albeit distinctly average shooter. It doesn't have as many boring sections as RTCW (nor such a shortage of ammo in places).

I dunno, the general game concept is sound, having the town area with black market, mission givers etc was a nice touch. Being able to buy upgrades also helps because it not only gives you an incentive to find gold, but also allows a (admittedly very small) amount of RPG-style customisation to suit your tastes. But I think more could have been made of that, the town area for example can't match up to stuff we saw in Deus Ex nearly 10 years go.

Graphically I think this game is perhaps underrated. The textures are weak in places but I can't think of many WWII shooters which put it to shame in the visuals department. In particular the characters look excellent although it has to be said that they went a bit OTT with the staged lighting in places, making full use of the Doom3 engine by positioning lights right above NPCs you meet etc.

The Veil powers were OK but as usual, all a bit contrived, you play along as normal until you hit some kind of puzzle where you need to use them - deadend so need to walk through a wall, empower to shoot barrels through a shield, mire to dodge dangerous scenery, or shield to walk through some electricity. ZZzZZzzZz.

So basically it joins the list of "FPS games which you can just pickup and play without too much effort, nothing outstanding but passes the time" which I seem to end up playing so many of.

Fair assessment I think, Surprised You found RTCW had Boring sections, People seem to either Love it or Hate it ! Did You just play it prior to Wolfenstein ?

Not really, I played it first years ago (shortly after release) but got stuck, then I gave it another go about a year ago after buying the ID Mega Pack on Steam. Got a bit further but really didn't like the catacomb(?) sections, seems to go on forever and I run out of ammo.

I certainly prefer the Doom and Quake franchises to Wolfenstein.

Play Enemy Territory, Hang :P

Wolfenstein MP is already dead quicker than Quake Wars, The SP was quite good though.

Well, it must be 6-7 years ago I first played it and like You the Catacombs part was the least enjoyable ! Think I spent a couple of evenings getting through that, get someones save game or use a cheat, but get passed that to get into the great parts of the game
I have the save games somewhere if You need them ;)
