Hi,

I bought the above TV from a store the other day, and thought it was supposed to be a 720p set? (The spec on their website says so). but the above settings are being reported- How?

Thanks

Most 720p dispalys are capable of displaying a 1080 signal but then scale the 1080 image down to a 720 one to fit the screen.

Some 720 screens look better being fed a 1080 signal and some prefer a native 720 signal it all depends on the scaler in the TV.

BTW the TV is saying whats being input into it not what its actually showing.

As above, chances are even if it was running 1080 you wouldnt see the difference on that size of screen.

Not true.

I have 2 24" screens than can display 1920x1200 and I can tell the difference between that and 1280x800 extremely easily.

Admittedly, it's only about 18" in front of me as they are my monitors. It's all about distance.
