I don't drive so my knowledge of motoring laws is limited but, as I understand it, you can drink and then drive so long as your blood alcohol level remains below a certain level. Does this mean that you can drink whilst driving so long as your blood alcohol level remains low enough?

drinking anything while driving could cause a drop in concentration, so its not viewed in the best light.

as for the law on drinking alcohol while driving.... there is a little thing called google, try it ;]

Planning on driving to special school now?

I have wondered this myself, however i would not advise it at all, on a similar note if you are driving and people are having a beer in the back is that illegal? I said yes but my friends don't belive me.

Also this thread would be much better in motors

I don't think it's illegal but, as the driver, you are responsible for your passengers. If one of them gets drunk and thinks it'll be funny to grab the steering wheel causing a crash then you would be held responsible. I think.

I personally wouldn't drive with ANY alcohol in my bloodstream, regardless of the law allowing me to do so. It just isn't worth the risk imo.

IIRC It is illegal to have an open container of alcohol in the front seats of a car, that includes passengers.

Exactly what i thought mate.

Give me a few minutes to google!

edit: I've googled and all that i could really find was wiki/yahoo answers - They said it was illegal.

I know of somebody who thought it would be amusing to get an empty beer can, fill it with juice and drink from it whilst cruising the local retail park (thats crawling with coppers usually) he found it not quite so funny when he still got done for not being in proper control of a vehicle.

If you really want to drive effectively with a neon sign pointing to your car saying "I'm a complete tool and deserve whetever you wish to give me" then you can't be too surprised when the Police are happy to oblige.
