MOT Question dash lights

Are dash lights a MOT requirment? things like the battery light, high beam etc??

I'm about 90% positive they're not.

Then again mine failed on having a loose headlight switch.

With the exception of the A.B.S. warning light, I think you'll find they are not covered.

If the vehicle is fitted with an anti-lock braking system, check that a. a warning lamp is fitted b. the lamp illuminates c. the lamp follows the correct sequence of operation d. does not indicate a fault

Dads Westfield doesn't have a high-beam light, and it's never failed a mot so I'd say no they're not.

its an old mini, nothing is ever all working

I quite agree, I miss the nerve wracking nailbiting experience I'd get at MOT time

i have a van that just works. and its fine for driving me to work at what not. but for my fun i like to have my mini thats a bit different and is still being finished , therefore not everything works.

i owned my MR2 and that just worked..... yea it was great but i missed things breaking and having no real reason to tinker with it...

maybe im just weird, but i like it

Mine recently failed when the rear foglight warning light did not work but I dont know about the others.
