I was thinking that too Wayne, EVGA tend to be pretty good with their RMA's so I'd suggest getting in touch with them, see if they cant help you out

XShido that card can't be that old surely? . . . Have you checked with EVGA your status! :p

Some cards have two, three years warranty or more

260GTX would give similiar performance to your old card, slightly slower in some cases but has the advantage of not relying on SLI and runs cooler and quieter, it does run faster in some cases too.

IMO either buy a 260/275GTX, 4890 or wait to see what the new ATI cards are good for coming out soon. Unless you have an SLI board or can find a 4870X2 cheap you don't really have any other cost effective options for getting same or worthwhile better performance than your old card.

im using a nvidia evga 790i ultra sli boars.
so yes it is sli, but i didnt had the 9800gx2 on sli, it was that single card.
i want a new card with some better performance that the old one, also i prefer it nvidia based, i dont like ati too much, and my board and processor are based on nvidia mobo so, kind of recommended for me to go nvidia cards.

If you have an SLI board then IMO your options are:

If you play upto 1920x

1x 260GTX or 1x 4890.

If you play at 1920x or above

2x 260GTX in SLI mode

or

Wait to see what the new ATI cards are like.

The 9800GX2 and GTX275 are on the same bar performance wise, and you could always add another in later if you need a boost.

My EVGA 9800GX2 came with a 10year warranty, did you not register it or something ?

i think i didnt register.
is there a recommendation that is not in sli?
just a single card?

Well like BIGBC said, his was similar to a GTX275 so you could go for one of those for around £150.

Next step up from that is the GTX285 and the cheapest ones are around £220 but go up past £300. Quite an increase in cost really! Maybe get a GTX275 then think about adding another in SLI later on if you feel you need to?

ok i was looking for prices.
tell me wich of these cards is on the best price compared to the performance and quality i will get. remember please i used to play ALL in superhigh/highest with my 9800gx2 and i dont want to go play normal quality. just the best :D.
my option$ are.

1. EVGA 01G-P3-N981-TR GeForce 9800 GT 1GB DDR3 - 132 usd
2. EVGA 512-P3-N884-AR 512MB GeForce 9800 GTX + Superclocked DDR3 - 180 usd
3. EVGA 896-P3-1257-AR GeForce GTX260 Core 216 Superclocked 896MB DDR3 -202 usd
4. EVGA 896-P3-1171-AR GTX 275 Superclocked 896 MB DDR3 - 253 usd.

you think ill be able to play anything with the 9800 gt? i mean all in super high? any suggestion?
