Valencia - Spain - EUROPEAN Grand Prix 2009 - Race 11/17

It was a joke in reference to the Andrew Benson article posted earlier

Yeah it was always rumoured Brawn fell out with ferrari because he didn't want Kimi at ferrari. I'd be suprised to see him take Kimi as a rubens replacement.

Brawn should go for Rosberg to push Button on further.

It was rumoured in commentary that Rosberg may be off somewhere already (Renault? to replace Alonso)

It's not the track that is at fault, it is the aero of an F1 car that stops overtaking.

I saw the Porsche Supercup and GP2 race last night and there was much more overtaking and action.

They need to stop manufacturers sticking all the Halfords stuff on the cars, use even smaller wings, fatter tyres and turbo engines, kinda like F1 cars of 20 years ago.

Mclaren although I would like to see him in a Brawn. Kubica is tipped for Renault.

Sorry yep you are right

Question is whether McLaren are happy with Kovi's 4th yesterday or not, he did ok but suspect the car was capable of challanging Kimi a little harder for 3rd though (and for the rest of the season)

If you heard Whitmarsh in the forum he described 4th as not good enough, but an improvement.

I get the impression nothing Heiki does for the rest of the season will be "good enough"...

The search for his replacement is probably well under way, despite what Whitmarsh said on the F1 forum!

I think so as well, it's sort of saying 'Heikki, you better start looking around for another team for next year'

What about Kimi going to McLaren??

Of course it is. McLaren's problem is that they need someone who will back Hamilton up rather than beat him. And Heikki can do neither consistently (or even often).

If Kimi is not driving for Ferrari next season, I'd be shocked if he stays in F1. More likely to do Rally or something. Rosberg to mclaren would be a good move for both parties imo.

Well done to Rubens ;) LH was so unlucky... Button Must try harder in the next race or he will lose everything.

I think Button is managing the gap between himself and the other challengers, well. There is no need for him to be involved in heroics and take unnecessary risks. His lead is substantial. If he has a DNF though, things could get too close for comfort.

In the early part of the season, he did serious damage by winning 6 out of 7 races. That should net him the WDC.

With regards to his poor form in recent races - he probably needs to lay off the triathlons. :p

Agreed JRS, Rubens fully deserved that victory, he didn't put a wheel wrong. Genuinely happy for him.

Yep.

its just a job/paycheck to kimmi, he has no love for the sport anymore, can clearly tell that from the way he acts, so very much doubt that mclaren will be interested in him

Its a VERY SUBSTANTIAL PAYCHECK. I believe he is the highest paid F1 driver of all time. I'd love to see Alonso in a competitive car again and based on the last few years, Ferrari are the team most likely to be able to deliver.

Its a shame because although I was probably the only critic of Heikki when he first started and was getting destroyed by Hamilton (while the rest of this forum were coming up with silly excuses on his behalf), I actually think that recently Heikki has started doing a great job.

In today's race, Heikki did everything that was required of a No.2 driver. In fact, He was the best No.2 driver today. The 3 guys ahead of him were all No.1 (or joint No.1 drivers) and he shouldnt be expected to be able to beat them. If anything, would've expected more from Hamilton.

There is something that I dont particularly like about Martin Whitmarsh. I wouldnt do any racing favours for him. Ross Brawn on the other hand, comes over as a much nicer guy and if he did ask me to do a racing favour for him, I would be much more willing.
