Signed an Agreement now he wants more (vague i know)

fit extra roll bars (rear frame support)
get the cover changed to fit the new roll bars
change rear suspension for MOT

i think that what what we did before we went away. oh and get it MOT'd

does he want you to return the car in the state it was before you already did those things? im sure selling the roll bars and rear sus would cover the cost of the arch repair :/ lol

he clearly hasn't worked up from the bottom like most of us will have done - so he's obviously just landed in whatever money he's got for as long as he can remember. I know what's more pathetic.

Landing in money from the off isn't pathetic, having an obnoxious attitude about it and talking down to others who were not so fortunate is, and makes him look like an absolute idiot.

Agreed, that was what I was getting at - didnt meant to imply the former :)

Are you trying to suggest I was born with a silver spoon?:D If you knew anything about me you would feel daft posting that...

As for not having £400 to spare being pathetic- do one.

It's pretty irresponsible do you not think? What happens when a real emergency comes up and not being able to get out of trouble? It's hardly unreasonable....

The first comment he made I ignored it, the second I tried to explain but it does actually make me angry that people have his attitude.

The silver spoon picture sums it up nicely - not understanding how people can have little disposable income means you've never been there yourself. So he clearly hasn't worked up from the bottom like most of us will have done - so he's obviously just landed in whatever money he's got for as long as he can remember. I know what's more pathetic.

You are clearly very incorrect in your entire post, I grew up in a working class family with only one parent supporting us for the best part of 10 years.

I'm not referring to disposable money, i'm referring to having backup money there just in case you need to use it, this thread is a prime example. I've been a student for 4 years, I know what having no money is:D After the first year of having little money I decided to do something about it, why others don't learn from their mistakes is what I find weird. The reason why I raised the question is because the OP stated himself that he earns "loads of money", which is why it surprised me that he can't foot the bill of something he wanted the luxury of having for two weeks.

You are taking my post the wrong way it seems, i'm sorry you have done so.

Is fixing someones car a real emergency? I'd call an emergency losing your job and not being able to keep up with your outgoings. When push comes to shove, it isn't that important and it's being fixed as per agreement. The only person going back on the deal is the person who leant the car out by being so demanding. I understand his anger, but after all, did he not agree to those terms?

If thats true, you should understand what its like to not have anything put to one side, as generally bills/rent come before saving. Not related to the OP, but as a general comment on how your posts came off - you clearly annoyed several people with them.

Oh, and apologising for other peoples' actions is arrogance in the extreme, please don't do that.

Yes it's true and I do understand but that's not the point i'm trying to make. I'm not referring to cases of poverty or hardship, you would hope i'd understand that since i'm doing work with a homeless organisation at the moment...

What I am referring to is the OP himself, now I do not know all the ins and outs of his situation which is wrong of me now that I think about it, but what I do know is that he obviously isn't in *too* much trouble seeing as he has been galavanting around europe for two weeks and states himself that he "earns loads of money". I was curious as to how you can be in such a position where you can go on holiday, earn lots of money and still not have £400 in the positive.

Surely you can see where I am coming from?

I can see where you're coming from, but the way you expressed it sounded like something completely different

I wasn't having a 'pop' at peoples circumstances, that wasn't my intention at all, it was curiosity more than anything regarding the OP. Seeing as stinky has stated he just started that job recently, it all becomes a bit clearer.

How are you meant to save £400 from a month if you income is £1200 a month and all of that £1200 is needed to get through the month, I have not taken your post the wrong way, its just clear you have not got a clue when it comes to living in the real world, and make up what most people hate about students.

Edit:

Yea Gurdas, you live in the real world, I totally took your post in the wrong way.

Who is talking about saving £400 a month? You have taken my post the wrong way, clearly. As for living in the real world, I have been doing for the past 4 years;) I've worked for my money to support me through uni......

Sure you have mate, see my edit for clear evidence of that fact.

I didn't say £400 a month, I said £400 from a month, one month.

I ran my own business ventures to support myself through uni and if you don't believe that, I can put you in touch with many managers of many London nightclubs who will back that up:p

No one said anything about raising £400 from a month:confused:

What's that got to do with anything

That doesn't mean you started from nothing which an awful lot of people have to. You would understand not being able to simply have "money for a rainy day or emergency money" if you did.

I started from having to rely on loans and overdrafts and then work from that, isn't that what most people do? As for rainy day money, I thought it was common to save a little bit every month to put in a pot?

edit: I can see this turning into a two way convo so feel free to email me if you wish to argue even more.
