where did anyone mention anything about the cost

I said I don't like titanium watches, titanium watches generally cost more than the steel watches I prefer

also I prefer mechanical watches to quartz watches, mechanical watches are available at the sort of price he paid for that

unfortunately that leaves your comments looking a bit odd

Totally agree on the cost front. You are indeed correct that titanium is more expensive than stainless steel.

As for cost, I couldn't find a decent chronograph automatic non quartz movement for the £167 I paid for this watch and I have a Breitling already, this was just for a 24 hour day to day watch.

As for the heavier feel, I too like them heavy but not too heavy. As titanium, this watch weighs 40% less than the stainless steel version and since it's a monster at 45mm across excluding crown and almost 15mm thick, I found the stainless steel version was just a bit too heavy.

As for the ancient Titanium vs Stainless Steel debate they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Titanium is lighter and more durable than stainless steel however scratches show up different on Titanium and hence may be more noticable. On the plus side, it is easier to polish titanium to remove them, on the downside you need to polish your titanium watch on a regular basis to stop it looking too dull as it oxidises.

Some people don;t like the look of titanium but with Citizen it's as close to brushed stainless steel as you can get in looks.

I haven't worn a watch in many many years - I just don't find them comfortable - but I always like the idea of a watch, some of the ones posted on OcUK look really nice too. I struggle with metal clasps as the are either too tight or too loose :p And other straps look rubbish (though I could be convinced.)

They do look smart though - I just am so used to not wearing one that wearing one now feels odd.

Where on earth did that little knicker twist come from? Sometimes people in watch threads seem to deliberately pre-empt comments that haven't even been made yet, in the hope of re-igniting the usual debates.

This is a fair point, a valjoux 7750 which is the auto chrono used by most brands can be had for around £200 for the movement if you shop around - but that is minus the watch! (you could get a chinese copy for half that, though whether you would want to or not is another story)

exactly, I never made any reference to cost or to expensive watches being better :)

.

most bracelet watches are adjustable to around 2mm intervals so you should be able to make them fit thougnh I do find leather straps better lookign and more comfortable

as to not liking straps there are many places that will make exactly what you want to you can always get something you like, I had this one made

there's a guy on here who builds is own watches (from off the shelf parts dials/cases/straps etc) you could have one fully custom made if you paid him enough :p

Very nice watch, hope you enjoy it!

Just received my first one since i was about 10, don't know if i'll be able to get used to wearing one but at the moment i can't stop looking at it.

Nice watch op, I have the same but with a slightly different colour to the face, mine is an all black face, but I have to say yours looks rather nice, may have to invest in one for wearing with a lighter suit!

Thanks for all the nice comments. Totally unexpected tbh as normally you are asking for trouble posting your watch on here. ;)
