Firstly, I dont support Portsmouth, but for me the "takeover" of Pompey this summer has been a really interesting thing to watch.

Now I have just read this, ...

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Storrie-seals-deal-to-take.5568468.jp

So...now it seems that a "new" consortium consisting of Storrie and Al Fahim are taking over. Another twist in this ongoing bizarre saga. Does/Did Al Fahim ever really have the money he made out ?? Or was it all somewhat of a sham from the start? Season looks really bleak for Pompey I must say.

Theres probably just a legal reason he can't own the club all himself, maybe he's being investigated for something, maybe, who knows.

Its possible the FA decided the team he wanted to manage the club didn't have enough experience so a better team/consortium will fly through.

Who knows, but there are lots of attempted takeovers of all manner of business's that fall through. It might be as simple as the old owner not wanting to sell to an arab, or at the last second saying they want 5 million more, or is the best friend Storrie and decided to make it a condition that he's involved.

Big business takeovers have hundreds, thousands of little details to go through, any one could have become a sticking point for the deal.

SAF's backers jumped ship early on in negotiations (rumoured to be down to the FAPP test), SAF didn't have the full resources to fund the bid alone due to Barclays and Standard Bank (Standard Bank in particular) refusing to transfer the loans from Gaydamek to SAF.

Storries consortium at the moment is rumoured to consist of Chinese and German individuals consisting of;

Richard Li, Lee Shau Kee, Zhang Zhixiang, Martin Viessmann, Stefan Quandt, Axel Oberwelland and Wolfgang Herz.

I must emphasize that those names are just rumours. What is known is that at Fratton Park on saturday a large contingent of Chinese gentleman were seen being entertained by Storrie.

It's looking increasingly probable that the names I gave above are the two consortiums involved. Although Holger Heims has been added to list of the German consortium. As it seems at the moment The Chinese consortium lead by Storrie will partner SAF but the German consortium may instead replace SAF. Also apparently David Dein is involved in there somewhere :confused:

The FA have stated that storrie is exempt from the FAPP test as he is already Chief Executive (and more corrupt that a Central African Election :p)

So....er....ok.

Now I am indeed totally confused. Has been confirmed that Sulaman Al Fahim is now 100% in ownership.

2 days ago it was said that they "hoped Al Fahim would still play a part in the club" and that Peter Storrie was leading a "new" consortium in a takeover bid. Today it turns out that Al Fahim is the person involved...but..surely thats not a new consortium at all, its the same person it was all along, and if that was always the case why were they unsure if Al Fahim would be playing a part now that there was a new consortium. Gah !!

Has to be one of the most convoluted and confusing takeovers I have seen. I have to confess I am still somewhat inclined to believe there has been something suspicious in all of this, time will tell I guess.

Your confused :confused::confused:

Think how us Pompey fans feel. There's a sense that Storries announcement forced SAF to pull his finger out. Where he got the money from who knows:confused:

Why has Rafa Benitez been allowed to buy Pompey, surely that's a conflict of interest:confused:

I feel real sorry for Storrie having heard his interview on The Quay earlier, it looks like Gaydamek excreted on him from a great height. Storrie sounded properly gutted.
