Hi all,

Aion's coming out pretty soon and well WoW is kinda dead now because Blizzard have ruined their game :(

So basically i'm looking for any suggestions where i could sell my WoW account.

Thanks,

Anywhere online you can sell it these days isn't worth the hassle, it'll be full of scammers. Well known auction sites have banned it (I use to do it there after quitting a game), the only alternatives are places that sell gold, bot or cheat programs and I'm not posting links to them on here!

For those self righteous people who'll no doubt post after this - I bought a bot program when I finally tired of WoW and used it for months, even kept e-mailing Blizzard telling them I was doing it, sent a few screenshots too as well as mentioning it in-game to people quite openly at auction houses. It took me 8 months to be banned and only after I wrote a rather extensive review of the bot-program and e-mailed Blizzard support a link.

The point? to prove how easy it was to use and not be banned. Once you've used one it's incredibly easy to spot other users too, ironically I think most of the people reporting botters probably use or have used them at some point :)

Kainz will back me up on this, I know he read my review (was a couple of years ago now).

Nowhere because it's technically illegal to sell your account as it is not yours to sell. Blizzard own all the information on your account. If they find out in any way that you plan to sell the account the likelihood is that it will be shut down and deleted before you even get a buyer.

:D I'd be happy with anything from £50 upwards for mine ^_^

There's plenty of sites that will give you a quote for your account if you bash in your character details, may as well see what they offer.

They sell Lvl 80 Ulduar geared characters from $250 upwards, so if you have one 80 you should get at least your £50 I'd imagine.

You could see what they're selling their characters for, find one similar to your own, and make an auction on Ebay for a Bic Biro plus "FREE" WoW account for that price, see if anyone contacts you? It'll probably get your auction pulled like but you might get a punter offering to buy off Ebay before it gets taken down? Obviously don't stick your characters name it, just their class and tier of gearing.

Blizzard don't particularly want to ban accounts, it's all good for them in the long run, as if you're just quitting WoW otherwise, that the loss of a subscription to them. If someone wants to buy it from you, say for example they can't be arsed actually levelling a character and so wouldn't bother subbing otherwise, that's a sub that they're going to otherwise loose.

Obviously they can't actually support the idea of account sales, as that would just open the floodgates for swarms of levelling services to infest their servers and dilute the game, along with messing up the in game economy.

But hell, its not like their in game economy is worth a damn any more, seeing as the vast majority of high end gear you can get is only obtainable via grind of instances or grind of crappy PvP arenas where you can't get a whole lot until you cap a huge chunk of resilience. Before you reach that resilience level, you're just going to suck, plain and simple. Yeah you can get bits of tier 8.5 by grinding out HC's now too, but lets be honest, I grew sick and tired of doing them after the 4th run through or so.

Everyone told me "80 is where the game starts man" and thats true, a big chunk of content opens up at 80, but it gets damn repetitive after a a while, all my Shammy "needs" for upgrades is Ulduar and Naxx gear, and I can only do them once a week can't I? So what am I supposed to do in between these runs? Farm dailies? For what? Crappy achievements and expensive self masturbation mounts, trinkets and other mic oddities, which don't actually bring any benefit to my character.

Wish I didn't bother starting playing the game now. I want to improve my character over time, not sit in-stasis till some crap instance soft lock ticks over on Tuesdays.

[/rant] ;)

Is there actually any point in buying a WoW account? All the time new gear is coming out so it would be bettered in mere months. The only thing I see that would have a price tag are 'Realm first' achievements and PvP mounts and the like.

Sold my acc for a nice 500 pounds :) little while after Wotlk after I felt the game was going somewhere I wouldnt like but its usually best to find people you know or their friends to buy an acc as a lot of people try to scam you but wowtrade.pro is the biggest one I know of

And it`s not illegal just against Blizzards rules and they will ban the account if they find out which is unlikely

PvP mounts? Pah, with EXP from battlegrounds, by the time you get to 80 you'll already have bought them from the flood of tokens you don't know what to do with.

I just had a look at a few well known sites that trade WoW accounts and they are currently only selling... not buying. Interesting, though not really surprising.
