New Tarantino film coming this summer - Inglorious Barstewards*

I saw it Saturday, went for a 1300 showing which was nice as it was cheaper and quiet.

No children kicking seats or overcrowded just a handful of people who went to the cinema to watch a film.

Really enjoyed it, it did go on a bit at some points but the tension was immense and I was drawn more and more into it getting excited as the film drawed to a close.

Fantastic film.

Tarantino is a self indulgent director and he's never denied it ;) Each of his films are his personal projects that he makes because he likes movies, not because he wants to reach an audience.

Of course he wants to reach an audience .

There are a lot of directors who 'like movies' but the really good ones don't allow their own idiosyncrasies to adversely affect their films.

So what was the suposed reason for the german ss officer being able to work out that they were allies? I didn't quite catch it either time I have been to see it.

*Spoiler*

He speaks fluent Italian, and they were pretending to be Italian but couldn't speak any.

lol

The actress shoe, the terrible Aye-Talian accents?

Awesome film went to see it last night.

The ending is probably the best bit imo, made me really cringe but laugh at the same time.

Tarantino's has to be my all time fave director, He's never dissapointed, even loved Deathproof.

*SPOILER*

I missed a vital bit from my question. When they were in the basement bar. I'm not *that* dumb.

oooh that officer

He did the 'british three' which includes the three fingers when ordering that whiskey, do it now.. See what i mean ;)

The german three includes the thumb!

Edit: You get told that when Aldo Raine is poking the actresses bullet wound :)

Went to see this last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

The casting seemed perfect, and the funny moments really mixed with the tension. I will say the first time the actors switch from French -> English (on the dairy farm) it seemed pointless, but thankfully it wasn't too bad after that.

"Oh, I'm afraid I've exhausted my french.. do you speak english?"

Oddly enough, fan of cinematic fiction I always have a problem with "alternative universe" stories. And it's not even "the handful if jews that won us the war" bit, that part I liked, but Quentin just couldn't help himself to take the story tad too far and run wild with it disregarding historical background used for action. I would enjoy it more if the final climax hasn't gone overboard into complete porky land.

Not bad over all though.

Not wishing to sound like a pretentious ****, but I'm pretty sure the switch from French to English was necessary, as Hans Landa knew the Jews under the floor wouldn't be able to understand what they were saying.

Spoiler Alert

Quick question to solve a discussion we are having in the office:

When the Jew Hunter ordered the lady a glass of milk, was that a sign to her that he knew who she was?

I can't make up my mind about it,its a good film with some tense and exciting scenes and like others have a said some fantastic acting but still felt a little disappointed almost like something was missing.
I didn't think it was too long either when the end came i wanted more, also some bits on trailers and clips i have seen over the last couple of months weren't in it:confused:
here's hoping for an extended cut on bluray:)

Just got back from seeing the film and i thought it was excellent.

The humor was just right and the action sequences if not spectacular were well done, if some times a bit unneccessary but thats QT for you.

Christoph Waltz definatly stole the show with an outstanding performance, and i also thought Brad Pitt was very good.

The soundtrack worked well in a strange kind of way, i believe all the music was taken from other films though.

The story was pretty limp and to fill it out so much i thought without getting boring was quite a feat.

Would definatly watch it again in the future.

I am more irked with the way it happened and the timing in which it happened.

Other than an initial suspicion nothing really gave them away for him to abruptly change the language, IMO.
