Can this be repaired?

I have recently noticed a de coloured patch on the driver's seat. Apparently this is a common issue with bmw sport seats since the area gets rubbed against every time you get in/out of the car. The patch is 'greenish' in colour and I was wondering if it can be repaired?

I was originally looking into getting a recolouring balm but not too sure if it will work since the leather seems to have been permanently damaged.

any thoughts?

Not too sure about the permanent marker mate..don't want to ruin it...any other options? Can specialists like chips away repair these?
