How did you do that without the document number from the lost V5?

So 6 hours labour at around £60 per hour - £360 then parts at the cheapest what that £775 and i paid £900, don't feel that hard done by really

Only thing to note i suppose with that cost is my engine isn't the same layout as yours.

Have you actually got a quote or are you pulling figures from the air?

a turbo and a dmf is normal wear and tear on ANY car

TBH i've either got a troubled 1.8T which i don't think i have since i know its in good order, i'm either over keen to keep it running sweet or this is the generic cost of running one, i feel i could have run something much faster for the same cost per year.

You should probably have them replaced as a matter of caution due to the mileage on your car

The thing that bothers me is the amount of BS coming from the guy.

First he has the green slip, but not the V5c (why would they be detached)
Then he finds the V5c (conveniently)
Then the car has MOT (2 weeks?!?)
Then the car is/has been SORN

If this "mate" is so good, why has he ignored all the warning signs that would have any sensible person running for the hills? I don't suppose for one minute this "mate" will offer any assistance when the car does (and it will) break down.
