Fancy that. I suspect it wasn't quite £2400, was it?

yes do u want a pic of the receipt

what reason would i have to lie?

if i was gonna lie id say it cost more so i look richer lol not post a thread saying i have 4k then buy a car for 2.5k

What happened to the BMW and Mondeo then?

i still have the mondeo (the green diesel one) my mates brother is meant to be buying it tonight or 2moro for a grand, was on ebay but 2 people messed me about

bmw needed too much work doing to it and i lost interested so just sold it cheap well got £1450

Remap it now lol. Its a nice car if it all works out for you, but I would always be weary of whats gone on previously eg bad accident but not recorded etc. Dont scrimp on the servicing either as turbo engines get expensive quickly.

Really good value for 2.4k

the lesson is if you dont know what your doing and you suspect out walk away

i clearly did know what i was doing and like i said all along the seller was trustworthy i guess he just didnt know anything about cars.

To be honest buying a car like that from somebody who doesn't know anything about cars and was on such a tight budget he couldnt afford a 25 quid MOT is still a ridiculous idea.

If you get a trouble free year out of it I'll concede but until then, thats what I think.

did you have a trouble free year with your 530 fox?

I have not encountered a single issue which can be attributed to the treatment of the car by the previous owner, just wear and tear and common E39 faults. By contrast, there are many positive aspects of the car which are attributed to the treatment of it by the previous owner.

well im sure my faults will be common or wear and tear it was last serviced at 109k by a skoda dealer, they also did the cambelt and water pump and yes i do have a proper receipt for it

He must have requested the waterpump needs to be changed as well, only people in the know request thats done because its not an item on the cambelt change service list.

Should be wear and tear items that go, having a full dealer history is good news, mine had it upto 91k, this was the last service done by VW in germany then i took it over myself, pointless paying for main dealer services since the cars worth buttons and its not going to add to the resale value.

I'd do the same yourself just make sure you use fully synth oil.

ill service it my self and use my mates stamp, best way, i like to do things myself then i know its done right.

does anyone know what type of oil to use on these engines?
