Otherwise all the strong points (high contrast) and problems (horizontal gamma shift) of S-PVA except extremely slow response times. (double that of S-PVAs)

Looks good; for a PVA screen the responses aren't bad either; not too much worse than the 24" NEC.

Anyone got a link to why PVA screen's are good (or even a simple explanation)?

PVA produces better and more vibrant colours, better viewing angle, so you can watch a movie whilst laid down on your bed without worrying how to position your monitor to actually see the movie clearly, and in most cases, no backlight bleed.

Its not really meant for gaming in the first place, so If you're looking for a gaming monitor.. go for a TN monitor

I had a 16ms IIlyama monitor and again I never noticed anything either.

8ms should be perfectly fine in all honesty.
