Spotify app for iPhone approved

Although I can't find it in the store yet. I'll give it a try for a month see what it's like. Still some key artists I like that are missing.

Good news tbh. I think Spotify is fab but I don't have a subscription so I won't be downloading the app. For those who already have a subscription it will be great.

It's a much needed perk for the subscription. I get the impression that almost no one is phased by the free ad service on the desktop client.

As far as I'm aware the app IS free. You can only use it if you have a spotify premium account, however.

Yep, the app will most likely be a free download but obviously it will be designed to work with any subbed account holders only.

And the fact many record lables have invested heavily in spotify
Universal have now started earning more from spotify than iTunes (in Sweden anyway )

Huh? A paid service has more in common with iTunes than an ad-supported one. This competes.

It wouldn't compete if it was free, it'd take over. Don't forget iTunes songs can be burnt to CDs and shared.

Yep^. If it contained the free subscription option then Apple would never have let the thing through its 'approval' process in the first place.

True, both let you sync a music libary to a portable device but there's pleny of room in the world (read consumers) for both models.
+ those large record lables like making money and would've helped Apple make the right choice *imagines iTunes with only small indy tracks*

Surely your not advocating piracy are you?... technically you can 'burn' songs from spotify and 'share' them too..

Great app, does seem to take a while to sync tho, guess the servers must be pretty buy at the moment.
