Spa-Francorchamps - BELGIUM Grand Prix 2009 - Race 12/17

Loved the quip the Ferrari press officer allegedly made when Badoer was grilled about crashing into Sutil in parc ferme last week "Kimi told him to do it" :D

Joking aside, is there anywhere I can watch the 2nd free practice on the BBC website now?

Brawn's are definitely having a hard time - its not really anything to do with setting the car up, looks like they are still suffering from low tyre temp

Not going by what Button said in the various Q&As after the practice sessions?

I said it earlier in the season and I will say it again, he isn't going to win the title this year. Rubens or webber will nick it with half the wins.

It's just fallen apart for him since silverstone and he hasn't had the DNF's yet that will come.

As a fan it's frustrating for me so it must be bad for jenson and the team to not really know why it's going wrong.

They're playing too conservative. They've had problems since his last win with tyre temps. They've not fixed that, but the other teams have caught pace so a relaxed strategy is not doing anything for him.

He heeds to get his car on pole or at least 2nd/3rd and get a decent start. I think that's now clear thanks to last weekend and I'm sure the team will now know where they stand in the order of things and how to proceed. Brawn is a clever man, he'll get Jenson sorted.

Rubens? Not a chance. Rubens hasn't got the talent to reliably beat Button for the rest of the races. And since he's in the same car as Jenson he stands little chance of getting any technical advantage.

Webber/Vettel? It's still possible, but I really don't see it happening, they're still a long way behind, and with the McLarens and Ferraris getting back on the pace even if the two Brawns slide into obscurity they're not going to be reliably topping the sheet and that's just what they need to if they're to get a win for the winged team.

The smart money is still on Jenson.

I can't see Vettel winning the WDC. He will take at least one 10 place penalty with an engine change if not more.

the next two races are important for barry and web pretty soon it will be do or die for them, one more zero and that's it i vet will struggle because of the engines

Maybe, maybe not.

Look here at the table of engine usage. Vettel still has two new engines to go, most engines have been used for 2-3 races before retiring, so he should be able to manage.

Kubica's the one who looks most shaky on engines.

Hasn't Kubica only had one engine die so far though? He can go back and reuse engines he's already taken out.

Vettel only has 4 engines left total.

i think the wdc is between webber and barichello, i think hamilton has more chance than button.

barichello has shown the car has pace but button has gone to pot.

50% is not a roll.
However if here tyres are still not heating up as it looks like. Then I can see red-bull taking the WDC. If they haven't fixed the problem by now, then they are unlikely goign to fix it. Either they have no idea what is wrong or the change is a fundamental problem.

No, you don't understand, Barrichello has beaten Button in two out of the last four races. He's clearly on an indisputable roll and is massively outclassing his fading teammate.

Surely from that very same statement, I could say Button has beaten Barichello in two of the last four races, is clearly on an indisputable roll, and is massively outclassing his older teammate?! ;)
