Texting while driving, Worth a watch! (Slightly Graphic, Acting)

On the other side of the coin though I believe it's ok to make phone calls using Bluetooth?

Now I use it through my Sat Nav and actually making a call is no different from making a very quick text. I have to bring up the number and press call, this requires me to look at the phone and press a few buttons. Or look at the Sat Nav and do it through that.... whatever it's still distracting and then I'm making a call and not giving 100% of my attention to driving.

Where to draw the line??

The advert isn't about texting and killing babies while stuck in traffic jams though is it?

If I ever have a bump it will be because of looking at some skirt :o

Its about some chavs having to look at their mobile whilst texting a message and because of that were not looking at the road and drifted off into on-coming traffic...

my point always was if you are looking at the road then sending a quick text will not mean you drive into oncoming traffic :)

I text in traffic jams ect all the time but... that is not why I am writing this... I have now have had a mobile for over 10 years at least and who the **** needs to actually look at it when texting?!?!

Retards who have memory whatsoever?

Serious someone texts you that requires me to e.g. slide open n95 its now unlocked... a second glance means I have now got the jist of text .... like *can you get some milk*

without looking to reply its two clicks, then I type my message *sure no probs* two clicks and its sent!

Omgz no... baby killer!

Serious you would only ever need to glance at the phone to get the jist of a text and that is it ... I could write an essay on my phone without looking ... maybe this is aimed at chavs texting and *older* not so techy people

And if people want to cry at me for glancing off the road for a second maybe we need a vid for all glancings like looking at you family whilst driving or even checking out whose tailgating you.... looking out of your right window at boobs ect

Narrow minded.

Tis a good point actually... I think a lot of it is situational

I'm sorry but to simply call people "retards" for having to look at their phone while texting isn't exactly a nice thing to say. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean everyone else can. You will find that a lot of people need to actually look at their phone to type a text. Trying to text whilst not looking at my phone isn't exactly something I aspire to do and high on my priority list.

I assume you are the *older* one I was referring to. I am from the text generation and have been brought up around mobile phones. My point was you would not have to aspire to it you just *know* what key does what, it requires zero thought ... its just like just knowing roughly where the keys are on a keyboard and there are WAYYYY more keys on a keyboard

Someone in my family texts all the time whilst driving. We have tried to speak to them many times but they refuse to stop and on numerous occasions said relative has almost had crashes due to this.

I guess I am a retard then because I am only 19 years of age. My point still stands, calling people retards because they simply can't text while not looking at their phone really isn't a very nice thing to say, regardless of how old they are. It's quite upsetting that people label others for something that really isn't quite insignificant.

Report them to the police. It's incredibly selfish.

What about people who drive like 40 in a 60?

They are more dangerous as they are making me late for work and now I am going to have to risk my life going on to the other side of the road to over take.

Lots of roads with bends trees poor vis a reasonable distance ahead ect

Now that one guy driving slow is like whatever overtake.. but what about when the person behind him is not in a rush and then the person behind him does not want to take two cars...

Because of that 1 person driving slow I have now having to overtake 3 cars

I can't, it's a very close family member.

How will you feel if they ever, god forbid, have a serious accident becuase of this? Would you rather visit them in prison or maybe lay flowers at their grave once or twice a year?

I think we're too soft on mobile use by people driving. maybe if it had 6 points on your licence attached to it then the message would get through (not the sms though ;))

To be honest I found it boring, far to long and whilst the message was clear it lacked any impact.

Perhaps its just aimed at a different audience than myself but pretty much seemed a waste of money and will have zero impact on myself.

If they cut out the crash bit which looked laughable it would be a much better ad.

Anyone know the make/model of the police chopper?
