Demons Souls PS3

was summoned by the old monk! 2 players. 1 mage 1 melee knight. Mage Casts smt on me (yellow dots circle me) as i was basically fighting the melee guy. I lose mustve been one of the easiest "boss" fights theyve ever had bah!!! Luckily losing doesnt seem to have any bad effect for me im just sent back.

least i killed the 3-1 boss and got the gloom armour which looks very nice :)
 
had a mixed bag of multiplayer action today :)

Firstly, was in 4-2 when i got invading phantom warning but lucky for me the phantom helps me instead of killing me lol. (it seems i get the souls for the kills he does) So anyway we goet through 4-2 no problem but he leaves just before the fog for the boss fight. Luckily for me it is old man hero boss and quite easy to take him off from a distance. Got 65k souls in total :D:D

Second MP

Was in 2-2 farming bugbears (and planning to take on flamelurker again)

I get an invading phantom warning.. so i rush ahead looking for any blue sigils and GLORY BE! there is :D So i summon an ally and we kill some bugbears. The invading phantom player catches up with us and we give him a good thrashing the likes of which he wont forget in a hurry. So we head down to the lava area and unfortunately he gets killed by the bugbears (its easy to get trapped between lava and bugbears not much room to move)

It wasnt my fault honest :D

Third MP

I summon someone who has high feedback ratings just before Flamelurker boss fight. Unfortunately i die again. I didnt think they helped me too much :( So it doesnt let you rate players if you die? Only if you succeed in killing the boss? Upt to lvl 52 though :D


p.s. anyone came across this weird glithc. Ive killed Fools Idol (boss 3-1) as ive been in 3-2 got gloom armour etc but when i loaded my game and back in the nexus i can only teleport to 3-1 ???? Whats going on???? Its acting like i never killed the boss?

Nope never had that problem with the glitch you mentioned.

You really do need to get that Flamelurker out of the way, so you can
upgrade through Ed. Hit him with magic at range for an easy kill :)
 
ive just been thinking... The invading phantom gets your souls if they kill you right? But they dont get any souls from killing stuff around? So basically maybe that guy earlier (in 4-2) was "fattening" me up for the kill? lol the more stuff he kills the more souls i get so when he kills me he gets em all.

@Surfer Not come across that glitch mate, you did remember to touch the archstone after killing the fools idol? The archstone is not active untill you touch it?

You can leave feedback for a player by pressing select and hitting rate other player, can be done during a summoning or after u die, of course as you know killing a boss allows you to rate automatically...

Also surfer you seem to be around the same level as me, im 65 whats your psn?

Ive had times, sometimes they just wanna help, not sure why or how it benefits them, guess its easier than waiting around to be summoned, just invade someone and help... Ive done it before to get a feel for a level without risk of dying, monsters dont attack you as black phantom and as long as you dnt suicide and either die from the player or when they move to the boss its basically a free look around the level
 
Flamelurker is pretty easy surfer, espically at your lvl, just make sure you have the purple shield, flame resistance ring and the water veil spell, that way you can do the dragon god straight after, havent been playing for the last couple of days, the wolves hacked me off so playing batman instead.

multiplayer in this game is a bag of crap. Its done the wrong way round.

If your in soul form you get to a bit where you think you might struggle so you look at the BLUE stone and it says to use it if you need help. BALLS! it doesnt give you help jesus.. it offers help to someone else yeah But within this damn game you cant actually ask for soddin help......

flamelurker is ****easily***** the hardest boss ive faced. He runs around like a maniac sure i can block and not take much damage but he keeps on hitting. If i even miss ONE BLOCK then i am knocked over and he pounces on me and eats me. This is even with total protection (hahahaha!) on.

really beginning to get seriously DS rage at the stupid autolock though....... 3/4 of the time IT DOES NOT WORK you might be pressing R3 right in front of the ****** enemy but you are suddenly swung round and positioned/locked onto something else miles away.....i mean wtf....

and every damn time you die you have to go alllllllllll the way through the level again. Why the heck cant there be smt like a RECALL stone (e.g. see fable) how hard would that be


one sliver of light is i have so much dragonstone im gonna upgrade my weapons....

No the multiplayer is pretty much perfect (voice comms would be nice). If you want help use your elemental eyes stone to go into body form. The trade off for asking for help is that you might get invaded. As for the having to go through the level again, yes I'd agree that can be really annoying but tbh in reality if it was like Fable 2 it would end up being a 8-10 hour game with little to nothing to gain in playing it for longer.

As for the flamelurker, imo keep your load light and have a decent range attack (soul arrow), He really only has 2 attacks both close range so keep yourself on the move, and tbh even if you get killed it's a 2 mins run to get back to him.

Alternatively get some help...

Dont have any ephemeral stones so cant revive. My *only option is to put down black or blue stones and hope i get lucky and kill a player or help them kill a boss.

Soul arrow is medium range and slow tbh i barely manage 1 or 2 shots before flamelurker is on top of me.

Gonna level a bit so i can use the white bow on him

Getting bored or grinding :p. Might start 3-1 tonight and see how tough everything is on there to be honest. Managed to get 5 levels out of 2-2 though.
 
Is this still your 1st play thru surfer?, if so then i can honestly think you need to change your tactics for flamelurker, best bet is to lower your equip rate to lower than half so you can dodge and roll, i wore my thief armour when i did him with just soul arrow and a +3 winged spear and magic weapon spell, i just kept my distance using soul arrow until he charged then dodged out of the way and landed a few hits with the spear, then ran away again and repeated it till he was dead.
 
4-2 is the easiest for me to level up, wearing the ring of avarice i kill the 2 mantas then the reaper (bow for all) get 8-9,000 souls then evac back 2 nexus and repeat.
 
@Surfer Mate im gonna be playing most the day today, only got 2 bosses left to do I think... World 5-2 in the swamp is a nightmare lol... Rethinking strategy for it... Join the chat room when you come online and ill help you with flamelurker ok

Still my first? I still have loads of world stages i havent explored yet. Plan is to finish around level 100 im 52 so half way there. I think i have been unlucky with flamelurker. tend to just block rather than dodge.

Also i might play for a few hours but not level at all so levelling is slow


edit- as example ive been in 3-2 for a couple of hours lost 26k possibly another 4k as i fell to my death again. Considering that i need 16k for 1 level alone :p

How i lost the 26k was just cruel - my wireless controller decides to go nuts! (ie my character will walk in one direction only no matter what i do) and i walked off a ledge to my doom. The controller also has a bad habit of switching itself off at the most inconvenient moment. Dont get these problems if its plugged in but then i cant play lying down on the couch all relaxed hehe.

I do wish that the draw distance was a bit better in Demons Souls though. I mean cmon does it have to be so dark everywhere?

Reckon i will leave 3-2 ( i was in there coz i wanted the avarice ring and rune sword :D but hadnt found em yet. The ring is supposed to be before the boss but the rune sword you need to drop of a ledge to somewhere. Ive been dropping off ledges alright just not the right ones :D :(

Anywayz im apparently in a position to take on the storm god? 4-3 boss so i could take him and then i can get in 1-3 :D yay!
