Your last bad regretful game purchase?

Bioshock for pc because of the dire mouse movement, but also cos it was just dark areas with monsters that you had to shoot again and again to kill, was so boring, only played it for about 2 hours in total then uninstalled. Luckily got it on sale off steam so no big loss!

Before that, I would say doom3. OK it was an ok game, but so repetitive and got so boring, I was literally playing just to get to the end and see what happens. Havent touched it since.

Mine are:
Terminator Salvation - I wanted to love the game because I really enjoyed the film but it was awful!
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - I cant put my finger on it why I didnt like the game? I did a couple of levels but it bored the arse off me!

Star Ocean 4

I do it every time with these games think 'Oh maybe this JPRG will be good' - they all turn out completely pants - does anyone but the Japanese actually play these games? They're awful!

Bought it for £24, watched the opening cut-scene, had about 7 fights, died, sold for £14.

LOL, I can't get on with them either. All the ones I've played this generation, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant have all been a load of drivel.

Pixel Junk Monsters. Wanted a tower defence game that was cheaper than Savage Moon, but was so disappointed with it that I ended up buying Savage Moon anyway to make up for it.

The only ones I've even got along with are Chrono-Trigger & FFV for the SNES.

I think it's the combat that puts me off - turn-based homo-erotic spikey-haired chess.

I can see the need for it 10-15 years ago due to technical limitations, but is this day and age it seems so redundant.

Maybe it's because I missed the the PS1 era due to PC gaming as I don't like Metal Gear Solid either (well, the latest rehash anyway - I had to wait just shy of 40 minutes before I could do anything!)

Bioshock for the PS3. I finished the PC version 2 years ago. Downloaded the PS3 demo out of curiosity, saw that it looked just as good as the PC verison. Bought the full game for £9. played about 2 hours of it and thought what the hell am I doing? I've finished this! Sold it for £11.

Theres so many good games I'll never get the time to play that to re-play any games thats anything short of amazing is just daft.*

* Half life 2 I play for 30 min here and there and have done for years

It is an amazing game, you just need to play it with the fact that it's a PS2 game in mind, which I wasn't doing. When you look past the now awful graphics, wrongly mapped buttons, clunkiness and lack of player agility you understand what an awesome game it is. Wish I'd played it on release though tbh, it would have been unbelieveable. Really am looking forward to The Last Guardian.

The only reason I'm NOT looking forward to The Last Guardian is the emotional response it will evoke in me. I just know that game is going to make me cry. Even looking at the trailer with the baby griffin thing has me welling up.

Fallout3 - Absolutely awful game
GTA4 - I would rather set fire to myself than play this again
CODWAW - After loving cod4 this was the sort of game you buy only to use the disc as a coaster or frisbee
