Spa-Francorchamps - BELGIUM Grand Prix 2009 - Race 12/17

Bold claims from Force India here, this isn't a fluke result?
I could see points happen, they looked quick last week, challenging for the front though... Surely not?

Great race. Love Spa, it is a great track. Such a shame Button and Hamilton got hit off by newbs but guess thats how things go. He was very lucky that the others didn't score too highly bar Vettel. Stunning drive by Fisi.

Button really needs to get some decent results together for the end of the season or it's going to be a pretty hollow championship win.

All the haters will be out in force saying he's only won because the Brawn was miles better at the start of the season and as soon as the going got tough he was all over the place.

Cracking drive from Fisi I thought to finish 2nd. Brundle mentioned RAI claiming Fisi in a Ferrari at Monza!

Reckon this weekend has cost Ferrari bucketloads. First to buy Fisi out from his Force India contract and secondly Kimi's race win bonus of all the Italian ice cream he can eat. :D

Kimi is my favourite driver so very 'appy to see him back as a race winner. :)

If the car works like it did today on another circuit I can't see why not. Perhaps the low downforce setups of Spa and Monza will be their saving grace?

Great race today IMO and by far the most exciting race of the season.

We actually got to see some overtaking :D who would have thought that?!?!

pretty interesting race - despite the newbies taking out decent cars (especially after a decent start by Button who was upto 11th or so)

Terrible start by Barrichello and Trulli (and some incidents at the first corner with Alonso and a few others) yet Jenson would have avoided all that (and Kimi swerving all over the place that actuaully started the whole accident - if he had started further up the grid - yeah of course he would EJ you plonker!!!

Racing incident though - no one should be punished, if you start to punish outbreaking yourself it will get ridiculous

Well done to Fisi , easily the driver of the day - roll on Monza

Yeah very good normal race! Real overtaking on the track and everything!!

And i like the random use of placebos cover of running up that hill at the end :D

iam amazed kimi wasn't investigated for just heading wide at the first corner.

made up a nice couple of places and had a great line for the hill.

I completely share you point! he was 4th or 5th and 1/2 a mile of the racing line and comes our of this stunt 3rd! if there was a wall there he would be a DNF! 20 second penalty for kimi?

if the drivers keep doing that they should put a gravel trap there, stop them form doing that then.

Eidt

I'm surprised DC did not say he should get a penalty as it would put vettel 2nd

Riiiiiiiight.

He ran out wide to allow space for the cars inside of him and avoided a collision... there's also far less grip out there, so he didn't really gain that much of an advantage.

The drive he got through Eau Rouge was what made him overtake the field (combined with some Kers).
