Nvidea gtx300 series

NVIDIA at there best yet again with there buisness robing shinanigans..

me is buying ATI DX11 2x in september :) i cant wait.

yeah ATI/nvida need rivelry or they can do what they like with pricing and GPUs wouldn't evolve so fast

Pretty worrying that Nvidia keep having to rebrand, have they actually released any cards on the 40nm node yet? How are they ever going to get a chip as big as the GT300 out this year if they can't even get smaller parts out.

They will get the big cards out this year I should think, and all they will do is rebrand older models for the low to middle end stuff..

Nvidia's new 40nm GeForce 210 (GT218) GPU-based graphics cards will be available in the retail channel in October, as yield of the 40nm process at foundry partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has improved, according to industry sources.

The GeForce 210 graphics cards will feature either DDR2 or DDR3 memory, and support DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1.

In addition to GeForce 210, Nvidia is also expected to launch GPUs codenamed GT230 and GT300 in the fourth quarter of 2009, the sources said.

Nvidia has recently adjusted its GPU naming scheme and removed marks such as GTX, GT and G, and will instead just simply use GeForce plus the number.

Shipments of AMD's long-awaited RV870 GPU are expected to kick off in September at the earliest, the sources added.

If they rename the things, and make it simpler for people to understand, it some ways that's a good thing. People just need to be clever and read what the card you want to buy offers. If they were to rename a GTX 275 to a GT300 for example, and everyone thinks its a DX11 card, without Nvidia ever saying so, its the consumers fault for also not checking. Sure, Nvidia are being sneaky. But consumers need to also use their brains and read what they are buying. Companies feed off consumers stupidity. You just need to be smart. And read.

It's not so much as consumer stupidity, but more the fact that the majority of people don't know any better and rely on the manufacturers to tell them about their products.

It's the reason why people still get scammed by the purple and red shirt stores.

Lol @ Nvidia. After the pasting that they gave ATi after the 8800GTX launched, it looks like the shoe is on the other foot now.

When nvidia bring out the new 300 series i will buy one fed up with ati cards having a lot problems.

You do know that nVidia aren't free from problems don't you?

In fact, you could possibly say they're worse due to the huge amount of issues they've had with their mobile GPUs.

From what i have read mate its same old gamebryo engine its a crap engine with so many issues. All my other games run fine. I had a lot issues with my 4870 x2. Since upgrading to a core i7 most games run like the brilliant. Just oblivion and fallout have freezes and hitches all randomly.

Well sure, it's important to be able to trust a manufacturer. But still, people need to learn to read about products also. People not knowing any better, is simply because they can't read the details most of the time =(

Either way, from reading things on the internet etc, it looks like Nvidia will have some new GT300 cards out late this year/early next year. They will pull something out of their hats. At the end of the day, not many games will be utilising DX11 at the start of the life of the DX11 cards. It was the same with the DX10 cards.

So, even if the Nvidia cards come out early next year, we won't miss them too much I don't think. A GTX 295, or two GTX 275s in SLI, will last well until then. It's no massive problem really.

Even if people read them they don't understand them & that's the point.

I completely agree, but, the places people go to initially for help make it hard for them to learn.

They make out like computers are so complicated and difficult to understand, so it puts off a lot of people who think they'll get confused and not understand.

Wow, im neither a fan of either, i personally don't care who makes the card, aslong as it's value & performs well.

But NVidia really do suck balls, years they ripped us off, long as ATI don't price me out of new DX11 cards, then i will be a ATI cheerleader whiilst Nvidia take the pee out of us.

You suck Nvidia:mad:

Yep purple.

I went to see if they had VGA to BNC cables & i was told no i need a VGA to BNC signal converter box that could set me back £200, i rolled my eyes, walked out & popped into a local independent Mac dealer on the way home that i spotted & he said he will get some in stock in a few days for £15.

It's quite insane how many places try and scam people over computers. Quite scary. People really need to better educated somehow.

Anyhow. I think I'll be buying a second GTX 275 to SLi, and buy myself an Nvidia DX11 card when they come out =)

Will it require it's only wind farm to power it, or have they figured out how to make them efficient yet? :)

They use the power they need, have you figured out how to make them 'efficient' yet, whatever that means, how do you know they're ineffiicent by the way, or are you just talking out your backside?

Tell us what you know about powering GPU's?

Stop whining. If you can't afford the leccy don't buy one. Simple as.

Wow. Some people really need to chill out.
