Neighbour terrorising the street

I half agree with NitrogenY3K, I can't see the police / social services doing much.

Personally if there's 40 odd of you in your street who all stick together then that'll be much more effective. If one of their kids throws a brick through a car window of one of the people on the street, all 40 of you throw a brick through a window of their house. If they swear at you, all forty of you get megaphones at blast abuse at them at 2AM in the morning. If you all stick together they'd soon stop

Social services will do something. Contact them.

I was watching a program about the social services dealing with this type of thing - I can't remember the precise council but I think it was Sheffield. There was an 11 year old causing this type of trouble, all the neighbors logged everything that happened - so the social services... sent some bimbo out to have a word with the kid (yeah like that did a lot of good), same bimbo came back about 2 months later, for, you've guessed it another chat with the kid, and the program ends with - you've guessed it the kids was still up to his usual tricks months afterwards and no action had been taken - way to go social services! :p

I don't want to say "In my day", but "In my day" a kid was given a FIRM smack around the ear for doing this kind of stuff, and was DRAGGED back home, where their father would then give the kid six of the best with a slipper/belt/hand etc. Then again, kids never did step out of line much in those days.

Different times. I am sure the bleeding hearts brigade will say "oh, but that's child ABUSE!!". Which is ********, because it isn't. It's called discipline, which is something severely lacking in today's society.

Then again, chances are father isn't around to instil discipline anyway. Not that Mr teenage yob father has any idea what discipline is, so how is he supposed to instil any?!

i'd setup some kind of discrete cctv of them actually doing these things then report to your local council and police, might get lucky an get them all givin ASBO's :D

It's a vicious circle - parents don't care, kids don't care. Kids grow up and have children, rinse and repeat.

I'd suggest the only option is continually complaining to police (and have your decent neighbours do the same) until they are evicted. Or keep driving at 30mph in the hopes that one of them steps out in front of you.

+1
This is what this country lacks, discipline. I have probably lived a lot tougher life than most of you guys here, so I would know how tough life can get.

Most of these people that do this do it because they know they can get away with it, in my youth, you wouldn't get away with anything disrespectful to anyone, you'd either get beaten up like a pulp or brutally killed.
PS. I did not grow up in the UK, so I wouldn't know what it was like then with some of you guys.

RE: Pictures and videos of offenders...

An old neighbour of ours had nothing but grief with the kids down our old road, so he tried to get evidence of them in the act. When he presented this to the police they advised him to delete the pictures for fear of being branded a perv. I kid you not.

Fortunately the mud on the windows, dent in his car, rubbish around his window and the collaborating stories from everyone else in the block was enough to get the PCSOs on the case.

OK, I just setup a webcam server, I think it should work for you guys? Let me know if its working ta..
The cam is a Logitech QuickCam Sphere AF HD Webcam
It can record in 960x720 HD in WMV with YouCam.
Looks like they've gone in to feed at the moment so the view is a bit boring.
I only have 60kb/sec upload so be nice..

I got permission from the neighbour with the white car to record video.

No way that would've stood up in court, not if what he's got is of them causing criminal damage.
