That looks so much better. I like.
Definately needs some tyre shine to pull it off.

...as the CTR is hopefully going in November to free up some £££.
Get some tyre shine on and it will look just great. Satin looks better without tyre shine, gloss with. No question though, white would look a load better with those wheels on that car.
NOOO!!!
Your sig did make me wonder what was going on!
Although after receiving a quote today, for a boiler install amounting to £3,200 after ours went pop last week, I have to say that I have been pondering similar thoughts to yourself, and indeed about an MX-5. I really don't want to let the CTR go though.
That looks great when cleaned up. The only time black wheels don't work too well is when they tyres get dirty. At least they look better than they did before, certainly like it cleaned up.
I've spent the last hour looking around at MX-5s (MK1 NA shape, 1.8) as the CTR is hopefully going in November to free up some £££. Hopefully I can get a clean one like yours. Any tips on making sure I get an LSD and leccy windows? Hoping to spend less than £2k though.
Well cleaned the car today, and used some cheap tyre blackener that my Dad had. Looks better with the tyre blackener.

Imports are also likely to have less rust.
Imports that have actually been in our country for any significant amount of time are, if they are as they came in, likely to have more rust - they are not undersealed from the factory to any (or a suitable) degree as they don't salt the roads in Japan, amongst other things.
An import that's been here through a winter or two will most certainly have the startings of some fairly nasty corrosion if it's been left uncared for (or not cleaned off with a pressure washer) - and when most of this stuff has been over here for 10, 15 years now, it's worth digging about and making sure.
You can get them refurbished if you wanted to which is cheaper. A respray would cost much more.
The wheels aren't too bad but that towing eye looks really out of place.

Looks fine![]()

Makes a nice noise and I like the looks of it, so I am fairly happy. Just about to sort my suspension out and then finally brakes need doing. Then of course I wouldn't mind doing something about the lack of power.
