IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey

ok having a bit of a look around it seems that when they originally went to the producer with the contract there was only the proviso of 12 aircraft (fully modelled inside and out) which would be playable, these would also only be allied planes, the developers then decided having 40+ playable planes (even in a partly finished state) would be better than having a crappily unhistorical blue on blue multiplayer side of the game.

ok, i'm fine with that, i'm less angry, i'll keep my pre-order. i just hope they handle the DLC well, i don't mind them charging for extra game types or extra missions because i can just not buy them, but something that should be in the game (and believe me i consider it such an important aspect of an aircraft 'sim') and something which i'd have happily waited another 3-6 months for, should be free as one big download, or even something like 100 MS points per interior (i could stomach that as i'd just buy the ones i want (BF109, Me262, Ju87 (mainly))).

but we'll see, i'm certainly not as exited about this game as i was.

Just came across this thread and consequently looked in to this game. It's a 100% buy for me. Can't wait. Only question I have is this though. All the flight sims i ever played were on PC and required tonnes of keys. How will this be achieved on a console?
Cheers,
Dub

There's a demo available for download on XBLive.

Just been playing the PS3 demo and I cant put it down, also at 1080p for a change which is quite nice as most games are 720p. The graphics are top notch and level of detail to the planes and environment are simply awesome, differently a winner for me:cool:.

if you have a 360 your only option (realistically) is the saitek/mad catz av8r - 02 which is supposed to be alright, slightly better than the ps3 version (full control over yaw as opposed to yaw on/off on the ps3). but it's also very light. can be had for £30 and probably less if you look around so it's no more expensive than a normal controller.

i'll probably get one at some point, works on the PC as well so it'll be useful for something :)

Just ordered one for £16.99 from a major online only retailer. One of the first results in Google Shopping for the Saitek Aviator

sigh, mine should have been sent out yesterday by a certain company and have arrived today (1st class mail) but no post and no confirmation, no confirmation today either which means paying for 1st class was a ****ing waste of money, not happy at all as i wanted to get a go on this before i start work this week/end, going to have to wait until monday now if it turns up at all. (i release how much this is before the release date BUT i was going of the date they'd suggested they would dispatch on)

edit: just checked the site, it was dispatched today, maybe i'll be lucky and it'll turn up tomorrow after all, fingers crossed :D
