For a start they have a use, as in for towing. As standard the car only comes with tie down hooks which are not meant to be used for towing. Also just remember not everyone like the same thing, if we did we would all go for the same things, and where would the fun be in that?
 
A tow hitch is for towing, those are for being towed.

Sorry to say it, but I think you've decided how good they look before you got them anywhere near the car.
 
I don't think anyone would really notice the towing eye if they saw it parked in the street.

Looks good Dan, they look much better with the black tyres!
 
Red towing eyes make it look like a race car man! You need to get the TOW --> stickers on there as well Dan to really **** Fox off.

We're not talking about a controversial spoiler or perhaps some dodgy graphics but... a towing eye. Have we really got to the stage where people consider the asthetic properties of a towing eye? Get a removable one and hide it in the glovebox or something. It looks like you are trying really hard to make it look like a racing car :p
 
God forbid you looked around some of the DC2 and EK/EG civic owners cars. They nearly all have a Datum rear tow hook on them these days, although not road/MOT legal IIRC.

Still, I think it makes the 5 look pretty good, but I love this style despite it getting quite common for road going track car style these days.


Thanks for the info regarding the 5, that's enough for me to go on and much appreciated. Anything I get will get cleaned and undersealed again just for piece of min as I have no dry storage of off-road parking. I need to find out if my current insurance policy with Churcill will let me insure an import. Did a quick quote online and it wouldn't quote me.

Fox,
I know I won't ever get you to like them, so I won't bother trying to give my reasons for it. I am happy with them though.

I knew the tow eyes would get this reaction. :p
