Good to see IPS screens are still expensive, makes me feel like my H-IPS Hazro 24" @ £460 is still worth its cost hehehe :D

Does the Dell's stand not allow much adjustment? spec doesn't mention it. Casing looks fan though, like the HP 2475W it looks military/stealthy. I like that look.

Im guessing that sound system beats my £30 logitech set:(

And i thought it sounds great, god only knows what that sounds like:eek:

Maybe im blind, but i can't spot difference between all these different panels and picture quality.

Can get a nice 24" for around £180 to £280. Nearly £500 seems crackers(to me).:)

It's only important if you're doing proper work and must have good colours, second to none viewing angles and excellent depth and clarity of picture. IPS screens give the feeling of looking through a glass window at the scene on the screen - moreso the glossy fronted ones.

Angle issues do affect non IPS panels that are 24"+ more than smaller screens because if you move your view angle even a small amount then one corner of the 24" will shade into a different colour or go darker/lighter etc - IPS does not have this issue which is why IPS is the best technology for large screens like this :D

Jeez, how can you sit so close to a 2408, mines 3 feet away and it's close enough.

Easy enough really, I sit about 45CM away from my 2408s. It gets me really immersed in to games too. I've been playing fallout 3 as if I'm actually in the game, which is a little worrying.

I played it 20 hours non-stop when I first started it, except for the occasional bathroom break/food break :D. I'm up to 86 hours and I'm not even half way through.

I think sitting closer to my screen brings me in to the game more personally. :D

Considering this screen appears to be very similar to an Ultrasharp 2408, am I right in guessing this is its successor, considering that they're at the same price points?

Is this monitor better than the monitor i have

Nec MultiSync 24" 1920x1200 wmgx3 ?

Viewing angles on this monitor are sweet and its not a TN based pannel, and it has the best blacks and color on a monitor i have seen in a long time.

though is the above monitor better ?

Yes it is, yours has a AMVA panel.

They will perform the same but the IPS panel will look crisper, sharper and have no image shifting at virtually any angle.
