Cpu cooler with 140mm fan

Yes I know, I love testing out all these new cpu cooler until I find the best one, but so far, a Megahalems win hand down with 2 x 120mm fans. (with these awful fan clips - I hate it)

Megahalems with 2 120mms and loads of 140mm round the case would probs be the same aslong as you get high RPM fans?

ooh the thermalright looks nice.

it also looks like you can mount 3 fans there, 2 on outside and one in middle, is this right?

That ifx with 3 fans looks like a beast, may give one of theese a try when i get my i7 setup up and running.:D

That IFX is a monstrosity!!

Looks horrible imo.

@Bulldog, you must spend a fortune on coolers.. I really don't get your obsession with coolers at all.. you already have the Megahalems, and the Corsair H50..

With all the money you plan on spending on coolers you could have the best possible custom WC setup..

I really don't understand this, you say you want to find the best, so why not just go custom WC????

Good question of this. Because I am too scary to try and build my own custom water cooling as I am too scare of what if things went wrong, leaking, or wrong parts as I had no experience at all on water cooling build.

I always want a custom water cooling but I try it next year. Maybe Rich from OCUK will give me advice.

lol, that's why people leak test their loops first!!

The only way to gain experience on something is to go ahead and try it.

You don't need Rich to give you advice when you have access to the Internet, there are loads of people online who would be willing to help you along so that you buy all the right parts that you will need mate!!!

I am in the process of buying the parts for my first ever attempt at water cooling right now, should hopefully start building my loop by the end of next week..

If you read up enough stuff and speak to people online about it you can't go wrong... or at least that's how I see it anyway..

But you continue wasting all your money on lots of air coolers, who am I to stop you!! :D

This is your comment on the Coolit Domino ALC unit right?
best cooling

overclock 4.50ghz at the temp of 59C idle with medium speed fan and full load stable after 8 hours at the temp of 67C with cpu volt set at 1.34.

Excellent cooling - the best so far.

P.S. tested it under new intel cpu i7 920 D0 processor.

that unit idles at 59c at 4.5GHz yet only had load temps of 67c after 8 hours of Prime with 1.34v Vcore?!?!?!

That can't be correct mate????

If that thing was giving you temps like that at 4.5GHz why would you go out and buy all these other cooling solutions?

Oh, that was a long times ago, as a mistake as I using 85 on tjmax ! suppose to be 100! And that was i7 core 920 D0 at 4.5Ghz with 4 cores / 4 threads (no HT was enabled)

thers nothing scary about watercooling, as long as you run it outside the case and test for leaks for a few hours you should have no problems.
the last couple of upgrades ive done ive just whacked it in the case and gone live without testing, had a few small leaks which can be easily seen by putting kitchen towel around the joints you know you have forced bends on, keep a close eye on it and keep lots of kitchen towel ready.
ive had a couple of leaks since due to moving componants, thats why on next upgrade im going for compression fittings (another reason is i want to use 1/2 tubing) this means i will be able to get rid of the cable ties!!
