some sad news . . .

Don't know the full reasons in this paticular post but I hear to many times of corruption within charities or a large percentage of charity money being spent on Administration, which is why I rarely give to charity.

I was not a donor because this is the first I've heard of this organisation, but if I had donated I would expect the money to have been used to the best ability, even if it didn't work out. Surely there were many expenses involved in this effort, and children were happier and healthier because of it. I would not expect a refund.

So what does "Due to a number of problems, very sad revelations, strange and inherently wrong happenings and situations that have come to light over the last few weeks " mean then?

Instead of shrouding the whole thing with mystery, why not actually explain the problems, so that in the future, people who might also want to undertake similar kind of projects can be better prepared for the problems.

something bad must have happened for an immediate pull out like that

sorry to hear it

must be tough on you both. peace.

No offence but when India starts sending donations for our own orphanages then I might have some sympathy. Let India sort out their own probs!!!! Get sick to the back teeth of funding every other third world country or letting every other third world country into ours for a free nhs/benefits ride on my & everyone elses taxes.

& as for that life changing trip as advertised in the link...why not visit a local childrens hospital for the terminally ill instead?? perhaps you could channel money into those various cancer causes etc...can't be doing with do-gooders constantly going abroad to help the needy...period!!!!!

Not to be negative at all, but when I first read the post asking for donations something felt odd about it. I hope I'm wrong, and that anyone who did make a donation is made back. For some reason I just feel very dodge about this.

Poor kids I hope it's not like that Slumdog film. The bit with the kid getting blinded was awful and I'm sure based on some fact.

Wow what a lovely individual you are! A genuine ray of sunshine in our lives.

Some might argue that India has done enough for the UK by effectively bankrolling our empire for a couple of centuries and in the process turning it from one the richest economies in the world to its current poverty stricken status.

I also love that you think "do-gooders" is somehow derogartory.

btw divosuk....as for questioning everything...the name Khush Jabble seems a bit biased here.

And as for this comment.... along with being borderline illiterate/nonsensical it also manages to come close to being racist. Not bad work for less than 20 words!

OCUK is not some new sector of the BNP, your views are really not welcome.

OP, Well done for trying to make a difference, I hope that you will be able to channel your work in to another worthy cause.

close thread tbh

i can see this getting very tense in here and political.

sorry to hear it never worked out.

but your explanation is very vague, as well as website.

the people that donated may want to know a lot more.

BluZiff firstly whilst I don't agree with tasslehoff, don't attempt to speak on behalf of all OCUK members with "your views are really not welcome". And secondly why shouldn't he be promoting good causes in the the UK to UK based people over an Indian based charity? Surely people can give to the charities THEY choose to, and people can promote the charities THEY want to?

I'm a fantastic individual ta very much. Do-gooders....the likes of those who think they have to go abroad to help the needy when there's much in need here..(we do have poverty stricken areas y'know/abandoned kids in need of love & attention)..these so-called do-gooders are usually the types that go abroad only to enrich their own personal experience in life as opposed to actually wanting to help people abroad. (apart from the named individual above who I'm guessing is looking after his own thru us..I could be wrong. )

& I'm sure India had no gains in it's past history with helping the UK. They are stupid afterall??????? ???

I'd like to be made aware of the reasons behind the change of heart. No explantion leaves people thinking the worst, and most would be extreamly reluctant to donate again.

bluzif..my views are not welcome to you.....they are not borderline bnp...I'm stating charity begins at home......& as for insults...(edit..my views)...yes I've been reading the insults in the motors section regarding one persons advert suggesting he is a moron etc..so don't lecture me into morality on this site.

Again I hope to be proved wrong but I think this is a case of "if you dig anymore, all you'll get is dirty"
