me 2 :) started a knight but am thinkin about a mage tye char as im nearly always a caster in games where poss

experienced peeps: are mage types chars advisable to newbs????
 
My first char was a mage... It was tough going at first... All char types have advantages and disadvantages, and each type has different start EQ...

Magic is good against some enemies but more armoured enemies you will struggle against them...

Ive got a level 90 char and a level 20 char so if any new guys need some help, add me and send me a message on psn... Id be glad to help! psn in the sig
 
many appologies if this has been mentioned in this thread but i aint got the patience to read through 15 pages.

ive read a few reviews on this but i cant seem to find any info on a UK or even EU release for this, so does anyone know the best place/price to get hold of a version and if so which is the version of choice.

ive seen in on ebay for £38 but its still a bit pricey... if not ill just keep tabs on the MM see if anything pops up... no rush either as im moving next week so im going to be short of time for a while.

You want either the Korean or the Chinese version, make sure it says English as well in the description... There is a US release soon but will have locked IP as far as i know, no news on a UK or EU release and probably never will be...

£38 to me sounds cheap... I paid £45 from playasia... Considering most new games over here are £40-£50... £38 for this awesome game is definatly worth it!
 
ok guys, got my first question. i understand that the nexus is a safe place and that there are 2 forms, body form and soul form, but what are the benefits for being in body form?? wouldnt it not be a better idea to stay in soul form as this does more damage??? and you cant get invaded?

Yeh but then you cnt summon other players... and you lose out on the point of being invaded... if you dont wanna be invaded u may aswell play in offline mode... And you have to have the cling ring equipped to give your HP to 75% which might not seem so bad right now, but later on u will want other rings equipped and not have a slot taken up by the cling ring...

Its up to you how you want to play... I like playing in body form, element of surprise when the first time you get invaded, and being able to summon people to help you is always fun
 
Also body form gives you more health, may not seem much but when ur getting hit for over 400 + dmg by normal mobs ( pickaxe weilding mobs in world 2 NG+ ) then having as much health as you can is good..

Currently lvl 98 current stats are 26,25,22,30,24,16,18,17, which gives me 679hp in soul form with cling ring, 163 mana and 115 stamina, just got my compound bow to lvl 10 which gave me a trophy, need flamelurker so i can give the soul to the blacksmith so i can upgrade my dragon sword to lvl 5 which is its last lvl and should give me another trophy.
 
You say that but just wait till u have 80k souls halfway thru a diffcult map and someone invades your game, that sure gets the blood pumping, trying to find a safe spot to fight and easy to get back to incase you die.
 
Damn, there is really no easing you into this game is there? This is so hard its unreal. This has to be one of the most unforgiving games ive ever played. I swear some twisted minds made this. Im enjoying it but im getting a little worried as to how difficult its really going to get.

Once you get to grips with it you'll begin to find everything so much easier. Always remember to equip yourself differently per world as different weapons and spells are effective in different worlds.

Think I might pick this up again tonight. Got spanked by Fools Idol in NG+ though last night. Soul Level 100 has not helped me at all :p.

If you can get to 115-120 I'm happy to help, currently around level 140 but it's +/- 25 when over 100 :)

I would say so, and I'm not normally someone who would recommend a console based on 1/2 games but both this and Uncharted are imo the best games I've played this gen (so far).

Cannot wait for Uncharted 2, but this is filling the void quite nicely :)

May well take you up on that. Gotta get there first though :p.

Might do some more 2-2 farming tonight. Really need a Gods soul though so I can go rescue Yuria for SoulSucker.
