Aircon & condensation on windows?

On the road....
Why is it I get condensation forming on the windows of my Scania when the A/C is turned on? This tends to happen a lot in wet weather which I can understand but for the fact that my previous Scania (W Reg) used to mist up on wet days unless I had the A/C on!
With my current 08 plate R420,it seems that the opposite is true!

I'm guessing I've not got the temperature set correctly? :o

It only seems to happen on the side windows, not the windscreen thankfully!

FWIW I was not moving when I took this picture, even if it appears that I was!

Try putting the aircon on and recirculate air, it used the dry air and takes out the moisture quicker and once all gone normal aircon should be fine to maintain it.

Your using aircon with heat yes?

Clean your interior side windows properly and condensation will form less (or not at all).

On first start the AC will not be warmed up so for the first few seconds will mist up the windows but within seconds again will demist them as the compressor goes to work - depends on the weather and moisture in the cabin to begin with of course.

If your windows are clean then mist won't form as easily, if they're not clean then mist will form much easier.

A wild guess here, but could it not be that the cabin / pollen filter is over-damp? Probably not though, if the windscreen is staying clear.

Try cleaning them, as has already been suggested :)

Cheers for the reply's.

The inside of the windows are kept clean so its not that I think....

I'll try recirculate, tbh I rarely use this.....

Yes, I use heat with the A/C although not much.

I will return later with an exciting update. :p

It's next to the vents, which means there is moisture coming from the vents, which means there is something wrong with the air con, either it doesn't work, or there is a source of moisture after the condenser.

Unless the condensation is on the outside? Which happens with working air con on a humid day, if you aren't moving.

Is it not a simple case of you're blowing hot air on a cold window so it's condensing?

If the aircon was working right:

1. Humid air comes in from outside.
2. Air con chills it to near freezing, as a result, all the water falls out.
3. Heater heats it if we have some heat on.
4. Gets blown into the cabin.

So if the condensation is inside, either the air con isn't working, or something is introducing moisture, like a leaking heater matrix.

I always found that problem with having air con on and recirculation on as well. Let the air flow in from the outside and problem solved. I think my life operates the opposite to everyone elses...

He parked up on the inside lane of a dual carriageway just to take that photo.

Sat in traffic on the M6 actually, yes it appears that I'm moving which is why I pointed out that I was not.

Anyway, back to the thread, todays truck (Same model) seems to not have this issue, I tried with re-circulate on & off.....

If I was moving at the time, I'd put my hands up to it as i have done previously (Blind spot thread).
