Yeh i want soul sucker... Im blasting through world 4 now as its the easiest to do for me... skeletons fall before my magical sword!

Im level 92 mate so if you want to coop gimme a shout im in range

Got somewhat annoyed tonight, was waiting around for nightwoolf in world 4 when i was invaded 5 times, 2 times by the same person, then when night joined i was invaded again by a pair of black phantoms, 1 of the people who had invaded me earlier went and got backup.

Yeh we had a nice bit of coop going untill it was dina's turn to run in body form and he kept getting invaded... only one name popped up but 2 black phantoms ran in and jumped us... was a good till then tho... some blakc phantom fighting, few bosses slain

One tactic you guys may want to consider is that you try to invade each others worlds. Black Phantoms aren't detected by normal enemies (not sure about bosses) so the BP can go through killing stuff with ease and then at the end let their mate kill them for the souls.

I just got this game. Started with a knight, pretty good so far although I was thinking of restarting with a mage. Died a few times trying to kill some bloke with a big spear on the first level.

This game reminds me of severance on the pc (no body parts flying everywhere though!)

I take it you have to complete several levels before you can buy spells?

Pretty much, once you've got souls and levels under your belt, one of the phantoms sitting around in the Nexus should be able to sell to you :)

You could play as a knight with spells if you wanted to though haha

Im playing as a thief, but you wouldnt have guessed it, as i have started to wear the fluted armour, means i cant dodge as well, but gives more protection.

Nope as a knight you can buy spells from the get go as you have to have your magic at level 10 or above which the knight already has. What you will need is a wooden/silver catalyst.

P.S. Better of avoiding the guy with the big spear (I assume you mean the red knight?) If so you can deal with him later when you have the keys to the door he is guarding.

Is it worth investing in magic with a knight or should I just stick to swords?

I left that red knight alone, I'll come back for him later because he keeps killing me in one hit.

I'm trying to kill the second boss now but he is rather large...

YES, magic can be a life saver, i bought all the magic spells, then when i was near the end i used all my demon souls for the other magic from freke and the miracle anti magic ( very good spell ), you could stick with swords and weaponry but you will find some fights far harder than what they should be. If you dont plan on having magic than id suggest that you put as much into vitality as you can, more health you have the more hits you can take.

Finished my first play through, what a epic game. I was the knight and found the protection spell to be good. Now need to think about my next play through. I was worried about trying to get most things from my first play through, but you have to run through it four times to get all the tropies. So my advice would be not to beat your self up if you miss the odd thing through your frist play through.

Just dropped through my door!

Whats a good class to start off with then? I generally like using magic so I'm leading towards Royal/Magician but what are they like to start with?

I started of as a royal. On the plus side you start of with a catalyst, spell and a decent ring which gives you MP regen, but on the negative later on in the game you will find the Royal very weak and poor at melee.

Also quite a few of the usefull weapons require you to have high strength & dex which the royal's don't have as default.

Royal is still probably the best all rounder, as you can almost always defeat everyone with ranged magical attacks, also note that female characters get some very good equipment like silver bracelet which aids in being able to level up quicker.
