Most underated films list

Withnail and I

I never would have known it existed if my dad didn't show it to me, I'm guessing a lot of people dont either. It's probably one of my all time fave films, If you like British comedy then this film is a must!

I ******* love that film.

"How can it be so cold in here? It's like Greenland in here. We've got to get some booze. It's the only solution to this intense cold. Something's got to be done. We can't go on like this. I'm a trained actor reduced to the status of a bum. I mean look at us! Nothing that reasonable members of society demand as their rights! No fridges, no televisions, no phones. Much more of this and I'm going to apply for meals on wheels."

As for films, I've just been forced to watch 50 First Dates, and was pleasantly surprised for a chick flick kinda film.

Richard E Grant plays the role too well, absolutely awesome film.

"I find the carrot infinitely more fascinating than the geranium, flowers are essentially tarts for the bee's" absolutely cracks me up

How exactly is that underated? I would say it is totally 'rated' most people i know have seen and love it. Its a classic British comedy.

The Rules of Attraction, great film but i'm a big fan of Bret Easton Ellis books.... and Shannyn Sossamon :p

A film i love which no-one else seems to is Best Men, that one i can't explain as i'm not entirely sure why i like it so much!

I really enjoyed The World's Fastest Indian starring Anthony Hopkins, a gentle film based on a true story of a New Zealander's attempt to break the world record on his Indian (hence the title) scout bike at the Bonneville salt flats. Great performance by Hopkins and a really subtle feel-good film.

You cant go wrong with some Denzel Washington films.
Man on Fire has to be one of my favourite,
I also Recommend:
Remember the Titans, Antwon Fisher, Training Day,The Hurricane, Glory, John Q all great Films.

Firstly, underrated films, several of those were big hits(undeservedly) and severaly you listed are utter crap, John Q is such formulaic crap and a repeat of a hundred films done before, with a host of terrible actors, poor dialogue, plot holes and a crap performance by Denzel. The Titans was an average flick, The Hurricane is the only truly very good film on that list that was underrated and seen by very few people(going on the fact almost no one I know has seen it, not sure how it did at the box office).

The Man from Earth and Cinderella Man

I have no idea why Cinderella Man wasn't a massive hit in the box office, it is an incredible film.

Cinderella man wasn't a massive hit, doesn't make it under rated, its ok, nothing more nothing less. Considering its got Renee makes you want to kill yourself fat mouth like a puckered ass Zellweger in it, its not surprising people didn't rate it fantastically. Even besides that, despite two strong acting performances, frankly, the story is a touch weak and it doesn't really have the depth it pretends to have in it.

Not sure how well recieved Red Belt was, Dirty Pretty Things by the same lead actor as Red Belt was also stonking, though it won awards I believe and critics loved it, still seen by very few people and don't think it did great in the box office. Both great films that seemed to get very small releases with few people seeing them.

The Game(sean penn and Douglas,) is a great flick also with a low key release, fairly useless for rewatching once you know whats going on but one of the best films to watch first time around, truly superbly done start to finish, direction, style, dialogue, script everything is top notch and no ones seen it.

Hurley Burley is another film I don't know anyone whose seen it, very funny black comedy, great cast, great acting, very funny.

I'd have to say Windtalkers. Anyone i've asked say they haven't heard of it and its easily in my top3 of all time.

Dark City

I think it got kind of overshadowed by the Matirx which was released the following year. Similar idea at its heart about reality not being quite real.

Jacobs Ladder.

I think that people who watch this expecting some sort of horror film can be disappointed. It's far more cerebral than that.

Is that because it's weird as ****?

Very Bad Things

Surprisingly dark comedy.

The worst film i've seen this year by far. Sorry, my opinion might shock but I found nothing funny about it. Also, the security guard in the bathroom scene was just disturbing.

Weekend at Bernies is an all time classic in my eyes.

Awesome film! Saw it staying up late with a friend when I was young and we were in hysterics.

Mr and Mrs Iyer is a very interesting and well made film. It is Indian but not bollywood. No singing, no dancing, no melodrama and it's predominantly in English. Its about a bus load of mixed travellers and in particular a muslim man and a hindu woman, on a dangerous road beset by fundamentalists. beautiful scenary and illustrates some of the religious problems in India in a subtle way.
