Is P45 the last chipset to support LGA 775 ?

I would have said that DDR3 is already mainstream, Prices have fallen a lot & are not that far away from DDR2.
There probably wont be any more new chipsets, as Nightmare99 said the 4 series were planned to be the last but there will be new boards....if that makes sense.

Hmmmmmmmm

Seeing as i don't overclock or use SLI / Crossfire or even Raid or Wi-Fi i'm starting to think i might be better off with a P43 board. ?

I see that the P43 are not much cheaper than the P45.

All these P4x boards you can buy are ridiculous without much explanation what the difference is and the review sites seem to be only intrested on how well they overclock.

.

Read the specs and see the differences between them?

So you read the specs of 10 boards and they all say DDR2 , 1000mb Lan etc etc etc.

Do you care to read for example through the Asus P45 selection and compare the specs. :D

(1) P5Q
(2) P5Q Deluxe
(3) P5Q Premium
(4) P5Q PRO
(5) P5Q PRO Turbo
(6) P5Q SE
(7),P5Q SE PLUS
(8) P5Q SE/R
(9) P5Q SE2
(10) P5Q Turbo
(11) P5Q WS
(12) P5Q3
(13) P5Q3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP @n
(14) P5QC
(15) P5QD Turbo
(16) P5Q-E
(17) P5Q-E/WiFi-AP

And thats a selection of P45 boards from just one manufacture.

Let me know what you come up when you have read all the specs :)

Fair play but I look at the board I like the look of, the cooling capability, features and the overclockability and then compare it to ones of similar spec/design and aethestics.

I do my research when buying my kit, not ask other people to do it :D
