Can I Trust This eBayer? PayPal eCheque?

bt I safer.

Urm not really no. If you pay someone with a normal cheque they have your sort code, name, account number, and your bank address. So its no different.

Yeah it makes me laugh that people won'g give out bank details. I had somebody buy something once (lowish value) and he wouldn't do bank transfer as I would "see his details" and might scam him so he would rather send a cheque and wait for it to clear! Why people think a cheque with all their account details, the branch they bank at and a nice sample signature is safer than a bank transfer is beyond me.

If its an echeque, doesn't mean you will be scammed, unverified accounts have to pay like this, i remember when i first joined ebay, it did this.
Although you can usually tell when its a scam, Someone tried scamming me twice when i sold my camera, instantly buying it out, then asking to send it to Niegeria -_-

Claim off who? Ebay can't reverse a bt.

I didnt say he woud claim of ebay!

I got caught out, just after Christmas.

I got paid via Bank Transfer. Because the address on pay pal was not confirmed. And it sounded like a con.

I posted the parcel off to the address on pay pal. Someone signed for the parcel at the address, but wasn't the chap i posted it too. He contacted me and said he was going to small claims court yadda yadda, because it never turned up. I felt like i had no choice but to send back his money.

Took like 2 months to sort out, but RM coughed up because it wasn't my fault. I sent an item to an address i believed correct.

It turned out it was a recon scam. HE ASKED FOR RM special delv next day, the house was not lived in (was going to auction or something). Apparently they wait until 1pm and just sign for the package, they look like there working in the garden or something. They do about 10 phones in one go. And pick one day and do it.

Erm, what? IANAL, but there's no way he could take you to court for something like that, sounds like you just folded to his threat, as I guess most people would in that scam.

Well thats the idea. I thought i was knackered.

He paid for something
I sent it
He never signed for it (but still got it)

I thought i was going to have to pay out. Hence why i wrote to RM

But you sent it to the address he gave, and someone at the address signed for it. That's your end of the deal done.
