Spec me a hot sauce

thanks thats exactly the type of list I was looking for :D

Your welcome. Always nice to know that there are other heat lovers out there.:D

As for Encona, my gf who hates hot stuff, thinks i'm mad as I use it just like ketchup cause its easy to get hold of. I then always try to keep some of the hotter proper stuff in stock.

Especially good when your mates come round and claim they can handle "hot" stuff. ;)

EDIT: Personally for the pub element I wouldn't go above 600,000 units. Mad Dog or Blairs (lesser ones) should do the trick been 3 times hotter than what they are used to. SHouldn't cause too many problems either.

Post back the results and let us know what you got and how it went.

hehe, a guy I know thought he'd be a big man and use nuckin futs instead of tabasco in bloody mary's...after one or two he had to use a straw as his lips were melting...then he had to go outside and spew, result :p

The hottest of those I've tried is Dave's Ultimate Insanity.

Yes, it was very hot. Very, very hot.

Endorphin Rush is also very hot, but not very tasty.

a lot of youtube videos with habanero and daft people eating and drinking all these "ULTRA" hot shizz. Quite hilarious sometimes.

No hot sauce is dangerous - even the 16m Blair.

"Comprehensive nutritional studies have not shown any adverse effects of chile or capsaicinoids even at ten times the maximum use levels," wrote the one world’s experts on capsaicin, V.S. Govindarajan, author of the mammoth study, Capsicum--Production, Technology, Chemistry and Quality. But even if you do overindulge in super-hot sauces, do not worry, for they are quickly metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine within a few hours. (Excerpted from The Chile Pepper Encyclopedia, by Dave DeWitt, William Morrow & Co., 1999).

The labels quoting they are dangerous or might even result in death are pure marketing gimmicks.

Not strictly true. Really hot sauces increases the heart rate, perspiration and release of endorphins.

This can cause complications with people with heart conditions. In fact only in September of this year did a chef die from a chilli eating bet with his mate. The cause of death was heart attack but caused by the amount of hot chillis he consumed.

And don't forget that "hot" sauces/chillis actually causes a chemical burn which is no different from any other burn to the skin.
Plus we are in alitigation society so if they didn't put the warnings on and somebody died from a heart attack they would be able to sue them.

I like Daves Insanity Ghost pepper sauce, just got some Blairs Ultra Death too which is...um....interesting (but not as nice tasting as Daves).

For my 21st my friend bought me some Blairs reserve hot sauce. Its very very hot. Never had anything like it before. One drop on my finger made my tounge on fire for atleast 20minutes or so. Afterwards I wiped some sweat from my forehead abouta hour later and felt the sauce burning my forehead slightly.
