My PC has been a pain for quite a while now and I just haven't got round to sorting it out as I have found a way to get by and forget about it.

It won't cold boot, well maybe 1 in 20/50 resets/power off/ons

The only way I get around this is by leaving it in standby

It will boot if I shutdown properly then power up straight away or restart.

Hardware

Q6600
4x1gig Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300 (brand new rmas)
8800GTS 512
ABIT IP35-Pro
CM RealPower 850watt
2x150 raptor hdds (brand new rmas)
1x1000 samsung hdd (brand new)

I think its a problem between the IP35 and PSU, though I can't be sure!

I would RMA my IP35 but whats the deal with ABIT now?

Any ideas?

Can you try a different PSU

Anything in the event viewer?
What OS are you using?

No errors in EV and currently using XP x64.

I don't have a spare PSU so I guess I will have to buy a new motherboard as ABIT are no more and RMA this PSU?

I could take it to my local PC repair shop for a free health check and to test a different PSU but the last time I took my case they scratched it all over so never again!

I have an intial daily boot BSOD ACPI Bios non complaint on my IP35 Pro OCUK Ultima system, I requested an RMA on the PSU from OCZ which they accepted and returned to me the updated version of the PSU with the 8pin PCI express connections ..

After installing the PSU i still have the same BSOD so dont hold your breath that the new PSU will cure the issue your having...

Im seriously considering biteing the bullit and just buying a new motherboard.. The IP35 Pro is good for Overclocking, OCUK had my system pre overclocked to 3.4Ghz on a Q6600 from delivery and its been rock solid for 2 years.. Now ABIT has gone and there seems to be no more support available its time for a new mainboard .... I guess.....
