This is looking dangerous - he has just stepped up a gear in this 2nd set and really threw Murray

one set all (and pretty equal 6-2, 3-6)

valid point - but Murray can rarely play a lot better than his opponant it seems, for whatever reason, unlike Fed who can totally outclass most opposition
 
Well he's certainly stepped it up in the 3rd set, he was taking it a bit too easy and he struggled because of that, this will finish very quickly now one suspects.

I think he seems to struggle for motivation in the early stages of tournaments for some reason or another, against the better players he really steps up his game.

Dangerous way to approach things of course.

It's quite a common thing with sportsmen or people in general I suppose, you play to the level that you are playing against. From the text scores though it rather looks as if he's just decided to up his game significantly as at the time of writing he's 5-0 up.

The thing I love about Murray is his return of serve...

He always makes his opponent make one more shot, just showed in that 6th game of the set there and Capdeville lost the point after a Murray hopeful return.

all credit to Murray he stepped it up after dropping a set, it may be a wake up call for him that couldnt have come at a better time :)
 
I think losing the second set may have done woken Murray up and done him some good. He was impervious after that.
 
Federer down 1-0 to Hewitt..surprised they have met so early in the US Open...still expect Federer to beat him though...well fingers crossed..

LOL yeh watched the last set...Fed wasnt at his best but still managed to beat Hewitt who isnt the easiest of opponents.

Not shocked in the slightest that Sharapova lost yet again...she lost in the early rounds of Wimbledon this yr as well...i think shes more or less finished and her grunting just annoys the hell out of me...still id give her one though.

Almagro is totally hammering the ball :D

Up a break albeit right at the start of the match to go 2-0 up in the 1st set against Nadal.

Main thing for Almagro is keeping his cool and consistancy.
 
Good match on at the moment: Venus Williams vs Kim Clijsters. Very strong start from Kim after 2 years out of the game, 5-0 up in the first set breaking Williams' serve 3 times!! Always great to see the Williams sisters facing strong opposition.
