So... the typical student show off thread!

How much uni debt have you racked up or are you paying it off from many years ago?

My final uni debt stands at around 35k inc course fees.

Bit higher than I anticipated.. but I hope it will push me harder to find a better job!

was thinking about going to study in canada for uni, but the costs add up way too much, the course itself it is
plus i dont have the funds :p :(

£3225 tuition costs for my final year. Worked to pay the first two years (just), and lived at home and didnt take any other loans out. Now i'm in a little debt, but in perspective its extremely small and i'm not worried about paying it off. In fact, as small as it is, it'll be a great thing once i'm debt free.

Canadian guy did a degree in canada in computer science (he's polish) now hes on my course doing this degree. He's 24/25 now but the travelling to canada seemed to help him a lot!

I think he learnt a lot about confidence and independence there, wish i was a bit more cultured!

I'm guessing going to end up with 20-25k at the end.

Not that fussed tbh, at the end of the day its pretty cheap money and you'll never pay it back anyway. The minimum repayment barely covers the interest last time I checked?

EDIT: Scrap that, the interest it 0% or even negative for some people currently. I don't see how its worth paying more than the minimum aslong as savings accounts offer higher interest than the loan costs.

The whole student loan thing is a con for the 1st year the treasury keeps your money.

I think I'm over £12,000 in debt currently. It'll be £24,000 by the time I've finished.

Am I worried? No. I'll get a job and pay it off.

About 11k. Not at all arsed as the interest rate is absurdly low, and they're not exactly going to come threatening me to get it back.

Isn't the average going towards the £35 000 level? I was under the impression that the average level of student debt is going up as more people do masters in order to "stand out from the crowd".

Pretty sure you can't get normal student loan for a masters?

I don't understand why people do a masters off the bat. Get a decent degree and find a good starter job, then get your employer to foot the bill.

think i racked up somewhere in the region of 12.5k thru various attempts at appearing to be intellectual and such. It was to no avail and im now paying it back at the rate of around 150 quid a month.

That 150 a month is paying for many years of pub meals, games consoles, football tickets and general debauchery.

YAY for me, eh?

I cry every time i open my payslip....:o
