Who hates the Union Flag?

one of the reasons why the nation is going down the pan is because people dont care about it anymore, its a one of those viscious circles..
I never gave a **** about the jack or the white ensign until i joined the forces.
They actually mean something, it represents the people, not the place.

You're about as bright as a shattered bulb

"Stands For" It's not a difficult concept to grasp
The filament could still be glowing. >_>

Things would still be exactly the same no matter whether our flag was the Union Jack or the product of a primary school art lesson. And so some people died for it? I didn't know them, and quite frankly I don't particularly care about them. I'd have been born into a different culture and grown up thinking that was the norm without them fighting in whatever war they did.

The fact that I was born here shouldn't mean I have to decide between embracing a heritage or being ostracised.

You dont care about the people who died for this country, who inevitably are you relatives, fighting for you and your children for what they believed would be a better world? Err.. you're a bit of a character..
Perhaps you should have been born in Nazi Germany instead, into a jewish family, then that could be your norm.
People unwilling to make a sacrifice, or even acknowledge one for their 'country' is probably the major reason why its going downhill, people are unwilling to fight for a better future.

Pathetic.

How is it not Iconic? a flag by definition IS an Icon.

It represents the entire United Kingdom*, the people and the countries.

*Wales doesn't count, it is not it's own country, they just have delusions of grandeur.

The people who died never knew you and they just like I would have helped you without question in your time of need. For exsample, lets say the UK got hit by a monsterous storm. Your an old man, you home is flooded, the roads to your home a blocked by falling trees, you live out in the country, due to you poor health you can't helped yourself. Your local TA unit has you on its list of people in need of help, due to your health. They spend days cutting thought falling trees to just get to you, you know this as one of the medics walk to you home with fresh water and food and he has stay with you due to your health. Would your opinion stay as it is or would you reflect back that your opinion was wrong?

Your post is ban worthy.

Without the millions of people dying for what they believed to be morally right, defending the ideals that are now considered the 'norm', we would be an extremely sorry nation indeed. The freedom's your sorry self enjoys today have been fought and died for.

In fact I'm not going to waste my breath. If they are actually your beliefs, you're incredibly naive and disgustingly selfish; hopefully you'll grow out of it. The next time something unfair or unjust happens to you, think of it as karma when no one speaks or acts out in your defense.

In that instance, I would be grateful for the assistance and have enormous respect for the person as they'd have most likely saved my life.

could you be anymore of a self centred ***?
If we had rolled over and let the Nazis come and invade you may cease to exist, or you would have fewer freedoms.

I see your Cornish, do you ever get out of Cornwall much? How old are you?
